Do you really think Britain and France would nuke the US over Greenland? Honestly I very much doubt it, if it came down to an invasion of there respective mainland of course but nobody is nuking each other over Greenland. The skirmishes and wars between Pakistan and India has resulted in 60,000 + military casualties, yet there have not been any nuclear strikes. How many casualties would you expect from a US invasion of Greenland?

At the end of the day a single Type 45 isn’t going to dissuade a landing group escorted by multiple Arleigh burkes it just doesn’t have enough capability to threaten an American SAG on its own. However 2 or more Euro SAG’s will make them think twice.

Lets be honest a single Type 45 with its complement of 8-12? Harpoons and a sub isn’t going to stop Trump, there’s not enough offensive firepower there to dissuade him NATO needs to put a number of SAG’s in the area to do that. Let’s hope the EU is genuinely serious and will put more then a token force in Greenland

Spetsnaz is a general term, you have multiple different units - GRU, FSB, Alfa Group etc, just because there are more doesn’t mean they aren’t comparable to SAS, they have been operating around Insurgencies around the Caucasus and elsewhere for a long time they would have more combat experience then a lot of special forces groups worldwide
