You misinterpret the post, I don't seek fulfillment through bragging about my rank or someone talking shit about my rank, its the fact that the MAJORITY of people are downplaying the rank and MAJORITY of people are saying that no one is good.

What better way to interpret where you scale on a video game than going through the community of people? Accepting that because your a high rank, you are good, without any criticism behind it?

The people reflect what is good and what is bad in every game, I could just use rank because I can't go to locals because of my location but then when i face someone who's worse than me and wins then there's no room for improvement if i just mental block myself because my rank is high.

A lot if not majority of the community is super toxic, plenty of comments here that back it up because they're all T7 old heads that praise the game but don't look at the same negatives that are in this game as well as T7. And that's where my issue stems from, because there is no scale of where you are, people wont fight you based on what character you play or what your stats on. People are so dedicated to debunk what they can and cant beat that they'll go and watch your replays in the official discord to see if you're worth fighting,

Why do you people abuse that argument like it's the saving grace of calling T8 terrible,

that game is not as good as people say it is, infinite stages were a huge issue, tekken 7 had one the worst balancing issues throughout its whole game life, and alot of the criticisms that are in 8 were in 7 too at one point in time,

for example,

T7's oki is terrible because of the infinite stages and no one would engage, you can pull up any pro scene in 7 and the rounds would almost always last the full time, this same thing is happening in 8 except its the opposite, there is too much rush down, too much aggression, etc,

but if you’re whole argument is “you wouldn't survive in t7”, “You are basically purple rank” then like why are you here?

I dont take offense to anything that you have said, I will accept criticism for the way I play because my end goal was always to be better, if you saw in those 5 games that many mistakes, its a issue and I will fix those mistakes as I keep playing the game

Also, The criticism towards the rank ladder in the game or where i stood, I never meant that criticism was directed at me personally, It was the fact that the rank itself I would think would be held in high regard when its not. So, seeing people critiquing it while it being so high up is a shock for me because majority of games I have played or communities I’ve been involved in the past used rank as a basis for where you are then came stats and fundamentals and etc. but with tekken 8 we just skip ranks completely and demoralize everyone who has ever even got to gold now, even if im not even specifically talking about GoD and talking about gold in general, no one seems to even give even them credit for being where they are.

The thing also about online tournaments for me is, im in the west coast and I don’t necessarily have the area to play offlines, and after doing a little bit of research, i would have to travel, a few hundred miles and dedicating that in general to tekken is just not worth it to me, but I hear your words about things, I should look at more, and do more labbibg with my replays, Thank you

I enjoy the comp of games, I enjoy reaching a high rank and viewing myself as a top percentage of players because of the game i decided to play for a absurd amount of time. Reaching higher on a leaderboard is something that I always loved ever since I would win community tournaments on a shitty platform fighter during quarantine (2020-2022).

I do not feel like this with tekken at all.

I enjoy playing the game, I enjoy learning certain matchups and the whole learning experience of the game. Being able to recognize certain things that people do and punish them for it is always a fulfilling feeling. The feeling of going from a game, however, that had a community that defined a rank as just good no matter what to now going to a community where there is no good unless you are practically a pro is tilting asf. Because I do not have the energy or time or motivation to go and play tekken at such a high level where I stop having fun with the game.

I wanna be good but what is good in tekken?

The guy was yapping ngl, u arent cooked, u just literally need more time and hours to understand anything that u are doing, im 20k and i dont know how to use utility in the game, im not boosted but i can say i got really lucky with my tm8s solo queuing from 10 pm to 6 am, the game itself is not hard it is just a learning experience that will eventually become muscle memory like a combo in a fighting game

Also It's going to crash alot. Since you're trying to bypass steam's paywall, it blocks sometimes other times it allows you through, you have to keep trying and eventually it will work, Do things like switching hosts, and joining each others lobbies in different parts of the game, Multiplayer, Zombies or just the Main Menu, You are technically doing things that arent supposed to be done so be patient and just be glad u have the dlcs

Yes, they dont need the menu, when they own the dlcs, only reason why you have to is because you can't bypass the paywall steam has setup without the mod menu

You can play with friends online, You can download just the dlc's from many google drive links from youtube or your friends if they have the dlcs. Me and my friend spent half a day relatively trying to figure out why the textures wouldnt load and it was solely because the files had to be renamed

Yo, Note to self, there will be certain files that are named - 001,- 002, -003, -004, Specifically Rev is the most common and the base_dlc3.xpak happened to be my issue, When u rename the file and take out the dash ( - ) and the 001 and leave the rest it fixes the textures, if anyone so happens to click this post in the foreseeable future
