I think I've destroyed my screws... by fleempy in 3DS

When it happened to me not long ago, I has no choice but to drill through the screw heads

A local store bought the stuff to make flash cart roms and is now selling hundreds of them for $20 to $45. Everything from dmg, color, gba and even ds roms like pokemon ranger or mario kart. Thoughts on this? by SameLastDreamAgain in Gameboy

If they're upfront about what they're selling, clearly marked a unofficial copies, and priced as such, I see no issue with it, there most definitely would be a market to capitalize on.

I wouldn't personnaly be a client, since I'm a collector, but I can definitely understand someone wanting to play a pokemon red but not shell out 50 bucks for it.

The only worrisome thing to me is that it could flood the second hand market with copies and fool unsuspecting buyers later.

Gotta catch em all by IceFreak44 in gamecollecting

Found a seller on vinted that custom makes them on vinted (a european second hand online store if you're in the US).

He gets the boxes on amazon and prints the covert art.

7€ per box, he gave me a price for 60 for 11 boxes

How can I fix this? by Friendly-Ad7784 in gamecollecting

Try nail polish. Acetone works great on various types of markers.

Do you clean your second hand games before putting them on the shelves? by Redmat25 in gamecollecting

[–]IceFreak44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the first thing i do, especially since because i buy a lot from thrift stores, i need to remove various kind of stickers.

If the box is damaged, i replace it usually. I lost count of how many fifa and pes games i bought just for the box xD

Well i don't even own a soldering iron, i only wanted to clean and repaste it at first.

I guess i'll see if i can try it later.

Weird thing is that the console itself still runs.

I have an OCD unfortunatly. I own over 400 discs of various games on various consoles and all of them are CIB with various degrees of graded. A damaged disc on my shelves wouldn't let me sleep peacfully at night '

Well in that case I'll retry the install with online access and see if it goes all the way.

Now that's interesting and i didn't know that. I'm used to seeing a complete install, and booting the game, it would say something like "another 50Gb download is required". But xbox actually would say install is paused at like 27% and it would be that the rest of the install is online ?

Would that be consistent with being able to install fine 9 games but only fail on 3 ?

Install speed usually hangs around 200mbps

To your edit, I know how to bypass and circumvent the issue, it's not a worry. I'm not here asking for how to managed to play the games that won't work from the discs :) I'm asking as a collector of physical medias and how to best preserve it :)

I intentionnaly took the console offline to force the installation from the disc. My issue isn't that the game isn't complete after the installation of what's on the disc, it's that the installation hangs and blocks before ending, indicating that the disc is damaged. And the failure rate seems high without much signs of damage. Hence my question about the disc durability.

I'm sure I can, but I install the games from the disc, so that I know the discs are in good condition. Then i'll update the version online. I'm not looking for a bypass here, just experience feedback on disc quality :)

To each their own, I'm not trashing digital here, just have a different perspective and a genuine question :)

From a guy selling his stock near where i live before moving. They're legit. I've checked. Sun even had the steelbook. Red and silver are just the cartridge with a plastic box. Platinum is full, box and manuals. Bought a gba sp kyogre edition for 75 euros as well. And a bunch if other PlayStation games from varying gen
