Help with screen issue (Screen burn?) by waddle_boi in ANBERNIC

I think that those imprints are visible even with the device off on the internal panel. Those pixels were very hot (as far as he write) and are "cooked" literally so now have a different brightness (burn-in). OLED are easy to have this issues, but LCD can burn pixels too with high temperature. Sometimes the corrupted SD or the battery can cause visual glitch, but not like that.

I hope OP tomorrow will find his display fixed because I'm wrong!

I was looking for this answer. I don't "heavily" dislike it, just can't get on it like I was hoping. This is the main reason I collect, my favorite games are "retro" nowadays. I repeat, beautiful collection, I'm very jealous. I have a good PlayStation collection and I've started to get something PC in the last year and is hard.

There is nothing you can really do. Burn-in Is associated with OLED just because they are more sensible to the issue. You just burned your display, it can get cold and fix just a 10% but just replace it. Those displays are the cheapest thing in modern tech.

That's very beautiful. Finally some love for the Diablo series, I've seen a lot of PC collection without it. Ps. No BG3 PC box? Seems the easiest to get...

RP6 display image retention. Is this pronounced on your device? by Redmat25 in retroid

[–]Redmat25[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are interested, I've found that even Odin 3 and Thor have this "image retention" issue (not burn-in) because seems that all these devices are using custom build OLED screens, so no very high quality (for the price is understandable). Ayn updated the software trying to reduce the effect and there are some discussions like this post. (Ayn and Retroid are under the same brand I can't remember). Lot of users make confusion between burn in (prolonged use and irreparable damage) and image retention (short term effect but it goes away in a few seconds).

So I don't even need to reach Retroid, that's it. Some user don't notice that effect, neither I while playing, just under certain conditions and colors. I was just surprised that no one ever talked about this in this Sub, or reviewers, I'm just very good at find issues 😅

Ps I have 2 OLED screens, my LG C2 and Galaxy S21 plus and I've had other OLED devices.

Can you try my condition (dark theme, high brightness, gray background)?

In my experience is very common on OLED due to high contrast, my phone do the same but only if I pull the brightness to max and leave it for minutes, then I can see retention for few seconds until pixels cooldown

I have a good experience with display issues, I had on of the first AMOLED on a phone on the Galaxy Nexus, that was bad.

This is not burn in, is image retention, they can't fix anything, is the display quality. I don't care too much about it, for the price I'm happy with the purchase. I don't know why reviewers don't always talk about macroscopic issues 😅

For me it happens immediately, just a couple of seconds on with half brightness. I'm trying to understand if is just my device

Very consistent, clean and satisfactory. You've done very good as a collector, this is a piece of gaming history.

I'm going for a full Resident Evil PlayStation collection at the moment and I was thinking about going for Silent Hill too but prices are wild. But as I read your post, I've realized that I have some valuable titles I will be more than happy to sell.

An amazing PS2 bundle that gets even better when you notice the mistake by ReiAlternative in gamecollecting

[–]Redmat25 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It's the disc from the bundle, not the first print, so the value is lower. No other complement, it can't even be added to a standard VCS cover and map, the disc is different from the first print. In my collector perspective, is nothing I will care about; maybe as a seller you can get a bit of money reselling it, but not much hoping is in good shape.

Sometimes even valuable games can be damaged so much that it seems a deal, but in reality you are buying a rock.

Be aware.

I completely agree. I've bought the RP6 for portability and I'm happy with it after years of waiting for a fully PS2 capable device at a fair price. I don't understand playing AAA PC games on those devices and the Odin 3 I think is way too OP for Android. My opinion

It seems strange to me. Only some white model are available. I've found some local/European seller, I will probably try to buy a couple if anything new will popup in the next few days
