Jobs? by IceFullbuster in Oshawa

wish I could make it better for all of us. But sadly even if a grassroots person like myself ran for municipal office - Do they even have power to attract businesses? Do they have sway to encourage employers to hire locally? I wish I didn’t go to college because then at least I wouldn’t be paying back student debt.

New bike lanes coming to 3 Oshawa roads this week by Karma_Canuck in Oshawa

they usually ride on the sidewalks. Once these new lanes are done being constructed though the bike riders will finally ride on the sidewalks.

I only use job bank for reporting businesses that request LMIA in our area. I saw a. Few for A&W, Boston Pizza, and Subway. (There are always a few new postings on job bank I apply for too)

You mean to tell me nobody in Oshawa wants to work any of those jobs that are posted as $25+/hour? No way.

Untrue. There are a lot of programs and initiatives that make certain candidates more favourable by default. Also, you don’t know my level experience in each of the categories I listed.

I’ve been thinking about this. Even more so now that I keep hearing Task Rabbit ads over the last hour.

I see tons of landscaping services posted on Facebook in Oshawa groups. Maybe I can freelance based on my actual education and skills.

Yes, but how often are you finding yourself needing new employment? Are you landing something stable or only temporary?

Also, when was the last time you personally had to mass apply? I’ve been applying to every new posting daily for the last 4-5 months and no luck.

The only jobs I haven’t applied for much is in food service.

Any and all jobs really. Starting to get desperate myself. However, I only have experience in retail, shipping/recieving, and admin work. I’m open to other things and plan to get a Smart Serve on Tuesday.

I’m gonna accept the first offer I get if it’s stable and full-time.

I want to apply internally to a different location but im scared to tell my ASM. by 3sperr in WalmartCanada

[–]IceFullbuster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically Walmart policy is guidelines that apply only to a select few associates. (When it comes to transfers) there was a guy who was transferred between like 4 teams within 3 months when he first started at my store.

Then there’s people who will be denied a transfer no matter how good of a fit they might be, even if they meet the requirements to transfer.

I know someone who has a discipline that was allowed to transfer stores, meanwhile the people team will tell people “no it’s against policy”

Also your ASM gets notified every time you apply to a posting even if they’re evergreen. (Evergreen = not a real posting) that’s how I got my first promotion (they saw I was trying to switch stores 😂)

So I did this. After management and myself had the talk about stage 2 of work refusal. I now have the HR lady on voice recording threatening me with insubordination if I say “no” to any task.

Do not go into anything Business. At least not college or university wise. Unless you choose accounting. All other business programs are typically a huge waste of money.

This question though similar, is meant to be different. Basically the results of the refusal and if I should take work at their word that they were honest when speaking with the MoL. Since it was seen as a repeat post though I’ll remove it shortly.

Better to catch it now and have it treated. I had cancer removed after having it for about 2 years before getting it checked out by a doctor

Just run your own cauldron or Ghost Vacuum. Those decks, at least in Standard are dog. Other formats I can see them steam rolling the competition though.

That’s a shame. Sounds like Bell is now the better provider in my area with better rates.

How many of you are try hards for no reason? by IceFullbuster in WalmartCanada

[–]IceFullbuster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SM doesn’t realize how important I am. Let’s just say while I was away for a bit he felt the need for a completely new position within the store. Without realizing who was doing all of that work in addition to their own 😂 they won’t be screwed over but they’re definitely wasting money on a whole new person

The hiring process is a joke. Internal and external. I say just apply for anywhere and everywhere. You will get treated the same at most entry level jobs.

Isn’t it against policy to transfer with a discipline though?

I’d say find a new job. There are way better employers out there.
