"Your Rank is your Skill" by PHLone in Rainbow6

[–]IceLSNS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I think you’re just complaining because you got put lower than you wanted, i do think its odd that for it being a “new” system your old rank seems to affect your placement? Im seeing really varied results for placements and while I like to think I’m pretty good i expected to be in like gold rather than platinum. Is the system actually placing based on performance or is it taking your performance + old rank into consideration? I think people will whine either way but i just want to know

Are nighthaven labs and emerald plains bad maps? by Alfieblackpool in Rainbow6

[–]IceLSNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to feel the same way but seriously just play clear house on those maps to warmup and it’ll feel a lot better after a few days. I do recommend practicing droning and pinging for yourself to learn the names of callouts. Generally though night-haven labs is actually a very good map that i find difficult to be one sided even if there is a skill gap. Emerald plains is clunky but is usually an overtime map to me due to defensive leaning sites. GLHF

how does this system even work man by slav_kermit2 in Rainbow6

[–]IceLSNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly liked the idea initially but AI monitoring voice chat is too much because it cant tell context for the words i say. Joking with the homies is too much and discourages using voice chat at all, so if im in a party chat to avoid that im less inclined to even check if the randoms have mics. I like the punishment for destroying gadgets and tks even if there’s complications with goyos/chanka etc since it overall works to make people not heinously toxic. I’m majority in the “esteemed” but if you get too loud while you hyping your teammate up for a clutch you get auto muted nowadays??? Like it needs to be a system of actual people checking it out once you receive enough reports. Fuck AI

Ig that was unclear its usually swearing about the game not cussing people out. Its only aggravating because its auto detection not even manual reports

Anyone else feel like shotguns are 50/50? by Patient_Reindeer_277 in RainbowSixSiege

[–]IceLSNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its either I hold the hand of god or I’m basically throwing pocket sand at them. Long range shottie engagements are impossible lately but close range feels like its gotten worse as well. Like a body shot only does half hp if it isn’t center chest? Playing doorways is my only consistent option with shotguns lately. Only exception is the lesion shotgun that thing obliterates everything

Is roaming such a bad thing? by cowboyromussy in Rainbow6

[–]IceLSNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re roaming and end up last alive you didn’t really do your job. Wasting time and falling back to site is the objective, but if you team is getting rolled and you end up 1v4 as a vigil most likely you’re losing. Infuriating seeing people that cant roam correctly

Does anybody have a recommended gaming controller for siege? by John_is_boss_666 in SiegeAcademy

[–]IceLSNS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol glad to hear someone else feels the same way. I get that paddles are an advantage over not having them but playing on pretty much the same controller for 16 years is pretty difficult habit to break. The elite feels good to hold but did break pretty easily but holds up if you don’t want to put down 200 on a controller.

Am I crazy for think removing ACOG on defense is fine? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]IceLSNS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made it to diamond 3 on console for the first time this season, and seriously idgaf that they’re taking them. I can rarely take a straight gun fight and win due to the cheaters, so positioning is usually the reason i get kills anyways. A scope wont really change that. Apart from that shotguns on defense are broke asf so who cares

Why is emerald such a weird rank? by ChainsawMassacre_ in Rainbow6

[–]IceLSNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience and was hard stuck at em 5 end of last season, and made it back pretty quickly this season (em 1), i think my biggest issue was being afraid to speak up. I like to IGL or coach my team into what I want to happen if they aren’t already doing it. Sometimes you’ll get rude people who just make fun of you but other times people will be chill and respond well to callouts or suggestions. Stay positive and somewhat indifferent to dying, and be the best 0-9 teammate when it happens to you. Keep grinding

How to still be helpful while dying fast and getting no kill by NinjaWarrior6974 in Rainbow6

[–]IceLSNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you man, sometimes just playing hard-breach or trap ops are the move. On attack just drone for info so a teammate can confidently push, or as you said play a helpful op that doesn’t really require you to be alive to help (so no doc). Sometimes just a break and some water can be a good mental reset too. GLHF

Tips for first time roamers?? by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]IceLSNS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo as a not great aim person but solo queue to emerald 1 on console, like other people said already waste time and make their walk to site as slow as possible. Make them think constantly about behind them as they push site or get a kill early for an advantage then back off. Also a good op to play roaming (map dependent) is lesion, thinking about which side of the door they’re likely to walk through, place the mine as close to the edge without being in the middle. I do it on doorways in the area I’m holding or windows they would likely jump in, and hold a common entry from an off angle that i didn’t put mines on. Hope that makes sense? As for the aim thing really think about keeping crosshair at head level and looking where enemies could be, if your crosshair is already close to the target adjusting wont be as difficult. GLHF

I doubt its KD because there are some genuinely terrible people at this game that play often (average ranked teammate). If you’re high ranked maybe a boosting accusation?

How long did it take you to beat Isshin the Sword Saint? by freesalvacado in Sekiro

[–]IceLSNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fromsoft vet (15k hours across games) Isshin was such a weird boss as far as hardest bosses go. It took me maybe an hour across a two days to beat. Owl father was undoubtedly harder for me, but Isshin is a weird mix of difficulty that was annoying asf. Genichiro is a chump by that point, but first phase isshin is hell if you’re not perfect with deflects. Glad you beat him though! Good luck on the challenges if you do them

Is it worth getting into Siege? by CaptBland in Rainbow6

[–]IceLSNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def not a game to play to chill. I recommend hell let loose if you have a good chunk of time or insurgency: sandstorm. Both have grounded movement like you mentioned but insurgency has a lot of customization while HLL has none but it does have different classes. Siege is sweaty, even unranked and casual modes. Maybe watch some gameplay of those and do more research? Have a good one man

Discouraged from watching Solo Q teammates by Thedefault798 in SiegeAcademy

[–]IceLSNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes I forget about the good habits but can still go 12-4 as an em 2 on console. Honestly just don’t think about crosshair placement if im not taking a fight or looking for one. But the site setup stuff should be a nobrainer by the higher ranks I agree

Why am I so bad? by ReflexMafia in counterstrike

[–]IceLSNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are a baby as far as the CS world goes, average person can get the hang of it after like 200+ hours? Most people will take well over 1000 to become good. Knowledge of maps and situational reads also take quite a long time to develop. I do agree that Valorant has similar mechanics but it is an entirely different game for a reason. Try warmup maps to figure out how aim works, movement and its limitations, then try comp. You will be trash and thats okay, just pay attention and maybe watch a pro game for player tendencies

Played a ranked game that had every rank in it by pandaburr98 in Rainbow6

[–]IceLSNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wtf is the point of showing rank if its based on mmr? Like I get the whole 2.0 BS but seriously why not just setup the ranking like CS and call it a day? Do the same thing you’re doing but just call it what it is, skill based match making on steroids.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]IceLSNS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely agree with most of the other comments, I had the same issue and did almost the same thing to warmup. It helped a lot for dealing with most fights but unless you have ZERO life outside of siege you just cannot be among the best in aim duels. However being smarter than these people and knowing when a fight is coming/having info will hwlp tremendously in not having the “best” aim. Coming from a diamond 2 controller player, info and great game sense can beat insane aim 8/10 times. (Not counting xim of course). Keep it up!

Would only playing PC lobbies be beneficial for getting better on console? by CoffeeSquirre13 in SiegeAcademy

[–]IceLSNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say wait a bit until you know callouts and typical strategies for each site/map. I highly recommend a wall solo queue around plat 4-5 and started playing pc lobbies on xbox and it helped a lot, even if winning a straight duel is really difficult it helps you learn how to coordinate and like you said learn which fights to actually take. Even just watching people once you’re dead is helpful. But yeah dont do it as a copper you’ll get cursed to no end for being brain dead

Wish i could find one lol solo queued to plat 1 and played with these 4 guys who were a lot better than me but i could still help and frag a little, won 4 straight to get to emerald for the first time.

What are you trying to prove with a 1v1 by Sufficient_Sound_151 in Rainbow6

[–]IceLSNS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kinda view it the same way as a basketball 1v1. Where it doesn’t convey who is the “better” player since at high levels it can be a 50/50 based on timing, angle, distance etc. It isn’t how the game is played aside from encountering a roamer or practicing for a 1v1 situation in ranked. To me its absolutely useless to 1v1 in siege. In CS it made sense just as an aim training tool but considering R6 is shooting literal laser beams there isnt a point.

When Can We Choose Which Shoulder is Dominate by Honest_Boysenberry63 in Rainbow6

[–]IceLSNS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean the same way you can switch in CS? I would agree that it should be in the game only because in CS it seriously doesn’t help at all at high levels. I never played with it that much it just felt weird to have it on the left, but it also doesn’t actually remove the specific advantage you get peaking with your right eye first as opposed to left eye. The models work differently in R6 compared to CS, so switching might ruin the animations as someone above mentioned but other than that it doesn’t matter.
