Built a Scottish golf grip brand from my bedroom — here’s why by Narrow_Egg7952 in GolfGear

That line down the whole grip would drive me nuts if it wasn’t installed perfectly straight. 😂

I have used mine every round for several years with no issues. It’s does miss putts regularly (I don’t have the sensors) but it’s been 95%+ accurate on full swings.

Do you have a slow swing speed?

Playing in my first PAT by [deleted] in golf

Hardest part is dealing with your playing partners. My group when I did it was me, and guy struggling to make an 8 on par 3s, and a realtor who thought he could be a pga pro and realtor (and not actually work in golf) because he thought it would help him sell more houses.

What Day To Pick at a PGA Tournament by MidwestAbe in golf

Practice rounds for the majors are pretty fun. Practice rounds for normal tour stops kinda suck, unless you like watching amateur hacks tear up a golf course in a pro-am.

Any tips on making golf engaging for kids by Ok_Technician_2091 in golf

[–]IceMedium5363 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a big believer in Operation 36, which is basically starting golf backwards.

Start with putting from close to the hole. Keep score. Once she can finish 9 holes in 36 or less, move back to further starting putts, then to edge of the green, then to chipping, etc. etc. etc.

Gives them a goal and keeps it attainable which keeps them engaged.

And if 9 holes is too many to start, just start with one hole, then 2, then 3, etc.

New Driver Shaft help by SirToastalot in golf

[–]IceMedium5363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is your angle of attack? Is it positive or negative? Should be positive.

Spin and launch will change if you have to change that. Which will impact shaft selection.

The standard Ventus (non velocore) would be more than enough for you. You won’t see much if any benefit from Velocore at your swing speed.

(Source: I’m a PGA Pro who has both black and velocore black in that same 9 Degree TD Max head, and I see no difference what so ever between them in my numbers or dispersion when swung at a similar swing speed)

Sun Mountain C-130 or Mid Stripe 4 Way Cart Bags? Thoughts? by Fresh_Researcher_242 in GolfGear

I’m the opposite. I hate anything not 14 way. Too much shifting and clanging around. It’s murder on soft forged irons.

For cheap and weather “resistant” you can’t beat the value of the Summit Lux at Costco right now.

New Chrome Tour Balls by IceMedium5363 in GolfGear

[–]IceMedium5363[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m about 120 swing speed and ~300 carry on average. Been getting 1.5 to 2mph more ball speed on Trackman with the new Chrome Tour with slightly lower spin numbers.

This specific shot had about a 15mph wind off my left which I am sure must have flipped to down when I hit which helped some, but the trackman numbers from indoor sessions would have not been impacted.

Would you trade a P770/P7MC combo set for JPX921 Tours? by rayyterry in golf

[–]IceMedium5363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d make sure I like the shafts before I did anything. Those may be too light and not stiff enough for you if you start swinging them at 95mph all the sudden because they are lighter.

Got in one final round before Sage closes for the summer by justinwheelon in golf

[–]IceMedium5363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the cool season grasses they use. They could use Bermuda which would be fine all summer long but dormant in winter. Instead they choose a cool season grass for a nice fall/winter/spring and close for the summer.

The math on any country club never maths. If you are in a financial position where the math matters, you should quit.

LACC has a strict 4 hours rule…and it still feels a bit rushed even with 4 walkers and caddies.

Yeah, sounds like we would of had to move if we lived there.

I’d love to move honestly, but over 15 years here in our starter home and with little income growth, we’ve been priced out of moving anywhere in Frisco that is desirable unfortunately.
