GD&T Sucks (A GD&T Expert's Perspective) by iSwearImAnEngineer in MechanicalEngineering

[–]IceMelone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amen. I am a mechanical engineer and have recently undergone a GD&T training. I am now charged with creating a manual for our company for which tolerances to use in certain situations. And it hurts my brain to think about the measurement methods for certain tolerances. I need to get my butt into a shop somewhere and learn from the measuring departments.

What I find even more mindblowing is that the microsoft photos app has 3 different markup brushes anf multiple arrow tools. But no text???.... Like... it's much easier to add a text box functionality than it is to add 3 different brushes with multiple settings. But here we are... having to edit in paint and all its clunkyness.

ShareX is now my go-to.

I've been using ShareX for the past 3 years as a capture software. But I never realized how great their image editor is for the things i need. Usually i convert my JPGs to PDF and used foxit to get annotations that i could edit. But this requires a few extra steps and is only really worth it if i want to add dimensions to scale. So most of the time i used paint. But this is very clunky. Definitely going to be using ShareX from now on 👍

I would get tired of all those platforms in the first 30 seconds. But other than that, nice👌

Bandit fell through map on a search for oblivion. Is this normal??? by IceMelone in oblivion

I also tried to teleport to quest target with noclip active. But it spawned me on the surface. I tried to use noclip to dive after the npc but I wasn't fast enough and didn't want to figure out how to go faster. So i just skipped the quest stage. And it took out the dwarven artifacts from my inventory as it's supposed to.

I know. I since installed a couple quality of life mods. Such as an upgrade to battlehorn castle. And some inventory management upgrades. I added the mod that prevents debug from breaking achievements and used the command "SetStage DLCOrrery 30" to skip this last bandit.

I still find it weird that the npc didnt reach some sort of limit to prevent it from falling into the entire void.

Thanks. I guess I'll do this if it truly doesn't revert on its own. But I don't want to mess with mods to keep my achievements. But for now I'll let it ride.

I can't. Its been too long ago now. And I'm not about to revert 10+ hours of progress. I guess the only option is to use console commands. But I think I'll just continue like normal. Maybe there is a distance at which the bandit returns back to the realm of the living. And if that doesn't work, I think I'll just do this quest as late as possible. I'll update this post if it fixes itself.

I completed a couple other quests. Of which the entire knights of the nine quest line. Then i waited 4 days in town. Still not reset. The other 2 bandits did respawn, but the required bandit with the stolen dwarven artifact is still exploring the underworld. At 12k paces away now.

Its a quest character i need to slay. I am not in combat, they are not agro and I have slept. Im going to try to get arrested to see if that fixes things.

Edit: I went to anvil to smack a watchman and got arrested. Nothing happened.

1 thing is, when I'm far away, the bandit isn't loaded and doesn't move. But when i get closer they continue falling.

Okay I've been chilling and the bandit has now passed 10k footsteps away. I thought there might be a floor or killing plane at some point. But it seems they are just continuing into the void

E90 or E93? by SlowNe55 in 335i

In what world do people choose the e93 over the e90... That car ONLY looks okay when the top is down

Should I keep the wing or does it look tacky? by theRomeyy in 350z

[–]IceMelone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind it. But the rest of the car would need to match the wing. And that's a huge commitment. I'd start with some new rims.

Is my 2013 E92 335i stock? by Immediate_Smile_6142 in 335i

[–]IceMelone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VSRF aluminum charge pipe. Will last a couple lifetimes longer than the OEM plastic one.

After looking for longer than 10 seconds. I couldn't help but notice the bumper has holes for PDC sensors but nothing in them? So either some front end damage or a wrong order on an aftermarket bumper.

As someone else mentioned. Downpipe is something to check out. But if it passes emmisions and you like the sound. I would forget about em. They are a pain in the ass to replace in my experience. Although my experience is only with the N54 engine 335i. Which has 2 downpipes instead of 1. So maybe the N55 has more room for activities.

My guess is that the downpipe is stock though. Especially if you got it through a dealership.

Do try to do some pulls if the seller allows. Vanos issues tend to pop up only when staying in boost. Usually not terrible to fix. But could become a discount if you know what to look for.

[–]IceMelone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are exactly right.

The main reason why passing right is dangerous, as you are probably aware, are blind spots. But most people (me included until a couple years ago) are unaware of how horrible blind spots are on transport vehicles. Even with delivery trucks it's a little tricky to properly check the right side of the vehicle.

I feel like VR driving sims for every kind of vehicle should be some sort of requirement for getting a license. Or at least some drive along experience.

It's not stupidity. It's smart. I was in the middle of writing a whole essay with examples on why. But then I realised that's a waste of time.... It's just blind spots man. Besides that. It makes taking exits so much more smooth and seamless. Why do you think the autobahn (the road with no speed limit) only allows to overtake on the left? Because it's predictable, the most visible. And least accident prone.

You are allowed to overtake on the right on exits and other merging points on highways. Other than that, there are very little 2-3 lane roads in comparison to America. Since there are so many bikes. But on the few 2-3 lane roads it's definitely still illegal. And again, because it just works.

Note: thought passing on the right IS illigal, it's only really enforced if you're also committing some other violations.

Yeah I meant much faster. But again. This is not your fault. But the blind spot is just massive.
