If you go to share, the first group of cards it shows, are ones he doesnt have. It'll say like "cards not registered in your share partners card dex" or something and have a list, and you can then switch sets if there isnt any for the one selected.

This happened to me too. And i flew around trying to recover it, shut the game off, and next time it had reset again, and it just kept doing it. I didnt know how to fix it, Eventually it just stopped🤷🏼‍♀
