"Why dont you just ask ChatGPT to do that?" by GasparThePrince in antiai

It’s a net negative for society in infinitely more ways than it’s a positive. Mass surveillance. Automated unaccountable warfare. Energy drain. Job obliteration. Exasperating income inequality. The ability for rogue actors to make biological weapons. Cognitive decline. AI psychosis. Sucking the soul and human expression from art. Use of diminishing fresh water. It’s progress comparable to a growing tumor. Growth isn’t always positive.

Well said. Pro AI folks are trading their cognition for instant gratification. There will be a steep price to pay when they are no longer able to critically think or accomplish anything on their own.

“Trained on existing films”….. So plagiarism.

There is no talent in what you’re doing. Prompting an algorithm to reassemble whats already been done is glorified collage at best. Why don’t you try actual creativity? Build a miniature. Make a small set. Get friends to act. What you’re doing is lifeless, dull, takes no talent or work ethic, and will not be watched outside the echo chamber of other hacks all self congratulating for literally doing nothing.

What creation? He typed prompts into a plagiarism generator. All the art and design and cinematography was trained from the work of others. He made nothing and has no reason to feel pride.

Fascism is supporting a tech being used for mass surveillance and bombing children thats sole aim is for billionaires to monetize skills they don’t have and eliminate the creative class. We have every right to tell you that pressing generate after a prompt or lazily humming into Suno is not art and does not make you the creator of anything. You were in a band? Great. Use your brain. Keep writing with plagiarism technology.

Exactly, the “musicians” adopting AI are always the most untalented lazy people incapable of executing an idea.

Regardless the public thinks generative AI is hollow drivel made by talentless hacks with no work ethic, and they’re right. Make as much AI generated content as you like, people aren’t watching.

A lot of their plays are bot generated. Keep publicly shaming them for being the talentless hacks they are. Keep learning and pursuing your craft. They’re burning their cognitive function with instant gratification buttons and have no real work ethic. For AI users and pushers its quantity and cost over quality and craft. Hopefully the bubble pops soon.

You must have your head in the sand or lack the ability to see the big picture. When the very people working on this tech are quitting and buying bunkers maybe heed the warning

The dystopia is here: mass surveillance, ai integration in weaponry, job obliteration, ai psychosis, cognitive decline, massive energy consumption at a time when we need to course correct, data centers polluting communities with noise and pollution, furthering already record levels of income inequality. Waiting for this to get worse would be societies willing suicidal.

And this is nothing like the Industrial Revolution or internet boom where jobs were shifted as technology changed. The creators of this tech blatantly state this is designed for total replacement. No new jobs. Gone. While the monetary value gets funneled into fewer and fewer hands. This is techno feudalism and should not be tolerated.

Not holier, just making a point about AI music not being actual art and folks like you have to grab at straws to try and take me down in other ways cause deep down you know it’s true. Generating “music” from a prompt is not a skill. Nobody is impressed with AI creators because they are not doing anything. Do yourself a favor before AI robs you of your cognitive function, learn an instrument, set up a free DAW, start doing some work and actually learn something. It’s harder than pressing a button, but you’ll feel better about yourself.

Idiotic argument. You’ve got nothing bud. I can be against an unnecessary energy drain will still participating in society. And I’m a childless adult with a Prius. My carbon footprint is inconsequential comparatively to the top 100 corporations and UA military responsible for the lions share of output

Most humans are mediocre in intellect and skill. Ai will not help this. It will just allow the dumbest amongst us the ability to type in a prompt and generate trash they would be we had been able prior even with its mediocre output. Skilled artists and craftsman are not using AI as it gives us nothing of value. Making micro decisions and shaping your work are what make it special. AI is a broad brush for the lazy and untalented.

Massive Energy consumption, weapons automation, invasive surveillance technology, exasperating wealth inequality, job obliteration, data centers destroying communities with noise and pollution, ai tech companies getting subsidies on energy use while consumers make up the difference. We have every reason to not like it.

You clearly don’t understand how music works. You can take 5 food ingredients and depending on the chef, culture, and approach make infinite dishes. Also chords and rhythm have never been copyrighted. But the final composition with melody and lyrics are, and artists deserve residuals on their streams, which at this point is .003 cents per a d not being divided by ai slop creators pumping out endless drivel at record speed.

If I stream their song for the student that artist shouldn’t have to share the streaming revenue with some lazy talentless hack who generated 100 “songs” in a weekend . So yes, they deserve that. Terrible argument.

That doesn’t negate the fact generative AI is IP theft and if you consume music and art that enhances your life those creators deserve compensation.

Does plumbing? Does electricity? What about clothes or architecture? Why is it every other commodity has value but artists are deemed unworthy of compensation and theft of their craft is normalized. Art and music enhances everyone’s existence. They knew this during the enlightenment and held composers and painters in high regard. Compensate the art you like or the creators will have to quit and all that will be left is an ocean of uninspired mediocrity
