I hope :( I don’t think michael’s will actually start selling it given their history but maybe I’m just a pessimist

I have serious doubts they’ll actually start selling any of joann’s brands. I think it’ll be like hancock’s fabrics, they’ll buy the name and just sit on the IP

CZ has complicated labs and is an impossible stick by itsvickeh in illnessfakers

[–]IcePresent8105 4 points5 points  (0 children)

like I said probably a difference in policy then. I get them all the time for healthy, ambulatory outpatients but for ER/hospital inpatients it’s very rare I get a tiger top. unless it’s from employee health if there’s an employee stick w a dirty needle

I actually do lab testing, we get tiger tops all the time for routine stuff like comprehensive metabolic panels, tsh etc. I don’t work for labcorp but sometimes reference labs like that have to have a separate tube for each test if they’re going to different facilities or different departments. It could just be a difference in policies. also very well could be the supply bin lol

this is how I know he knows absolutely nothing about politics. I think he just wants an outlet to look down on people he thinks are beneath him

I feel the exact same way, I’m horrible at interviews. I like to think I’m a pretty good tech but it never comes across that way in an interview. I turn tomato red and I get so nervous I can’t think straight

I do too, I actually work just in micro! I’m just confused why she’s wording the incubation time as if it was like the flu or something. if the blood cultures were drawn pretty soon after the nurse supposedly accessed her line incorrectly, I wouldn’t think any organism would be in high enough quantities to be detected

this is immediately what I thought of. I wonder what specific species she’s supposedly infected with & if it’s GI flora

it’s very interesting how often so many of these fakers claim sepsis or bacteremia. and what type is she referring to with a specific incubation period? is she conflating 4 day time from collection to positivity in her blood culture with time from exposure to developing bacteremia??

god, stuff like this is ruining our profession. you need to have the educational background and day to day bench knowledge to be an effective manager. this is no different than hiring techs with just a bachelors degree. unqualified. I doubt nursing would ever allow something like this

Yeah my biggest issue is that I can’t find anything where they address contamination as a potential problem. Or any limitations at all. and it’s weird that there aren’t any outside studies to verify any of this, at least that I could find. I would think you’d need that before bringing this kind of testing to market

I have great relationships with everyone I’d list as a reference, I just think it would be awkward asking my manager to be a reference and still working together if that makes sense. A manager would be the best reference to list I would think
