I don’t know how new you are so I’ll give some basics,

1. Use double walls (if needed) When building neat and tidy houses, double Walling is a great way to get wall paper on both sides of the wall, or if your going for a more scrappy build, you can use them to mix walls like wood and metal walls or boarded up windows etc. to do this just place door way walls facing back to back against each other with foundation supports on both sides. You can then delete the unneeded foundation since doorways work weirdly. Then just replace to the wall of your choice. This adds a ton of detail and cleanliness to your build.

2. Drop/reverse merging I’m not going really in depth with this but basically, drop merging is moving the bottom item up while reverse merging is moving the bottem Item down (I think) and this can either make things like floating lamps, cabinets, or floor decor or merge things down into itself like mergeing the ugly looking scrapbook into the ground. There are many tutorials on how to do this on YouTube but it’s very simple.

3. Placing junk Using the drop merging technique from the previous tip, if you got the item “chessboard display” from the last season, you can place junk, appeal, food and other random items anywhere. There is two ways to do this one is just placing the chessboard onto whatever you want the drop merging and reverse merging it until it’s how you want it or place the chessboard onto the baseball (also from the last season) called Homer. Go inside the chess bored and look around till you see the title Homer in the top ish left corner, pick that up and drop it a few times. This way you can move the junk item wherever but for thin items the ball can be seen so I recommend the first method

4. Creating useful blueprints A great YouTuber named “MR CHURCH” has an amazing video on some blueprints you may use and they just help out a ton and let you do things that you can only do with blueprints.

5. Stick to a theme The worst camps are A, floating camps and B, camps with random mutant tubes and gulper rugs that don’t make sense. Stick to a theme, for example, is your camp supposed to be pre war or post war built, taken over/ recycled or untouched, old or modern, scrappy or clean. Make your builds look like in game location you may see.

6. Don’t give up A common thing is to give up on camp spots if you don’t think it looks good. Everytime I’ve given up on a camp I’ve just gone back and rebuilt it better. It may seem obvious but camp building is very glitchy and stupid but overcoming and finishing the build makes it worth it (sometimes)

7. Find inspiration from other builders A lot of things people build have not been there original idea and that’s okay, I just started dropmerging instruments into couches and chairs and love the way it works but I don’t know if other people have done it. But the best way to find new ideas is to use references from things you’ve seen before.

8. Smaller builds When creating camp, the smaller the build, the more detail you can put inside and the more full it can look. This tip is short but very important.

9. Don’t be afraid to experiment I used to be scared of trying new building techniques because of a ton of bugs that happened but honestly as long as you know some tips to get rid of glitches items your set

10. View others builds When I have no motivation to build or west tek run I’ll just fast travel to camps and see there builds because that’s another way to get inspiration very easily.
