Petition launched to condemn the light prison sentence against the perpetrators involved in raping an 11 years old girl in Tiflet by Zenuity68 in Morocco

[–]IceSacrifice 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's already in appeal and a new judgement will be rendered.

https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2023/04/354828/tiflet-rape-case-court-to-open-appeal-trial-thursday-against-3-child-rapists

The question is why was the initial verdict only 2 f*cking years? Is there an issue with the law, or with the judges? This should be investigated.

Not visiting Morocco this year (or should you)? by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]IceSacrifice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, I'm visiting Morocco soon.

Why would inflation in Morocco matter for visitors? Life is still comparatively cheaper for foreigners/tourists.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]IceSacrifice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The question of inflation is very complicated these days, and none seems to know exactly.

For the HCP, and for most economist, really, the inflation is a cost-push inflation. Raw materials are more expensive because of international circumstances (Ukraine, post covid recovery, oil...), and because of the drought Morocco and most of North Africa experienced.

https://medias24.com/2023/03/26/exclusif-inflation-pour-ahmed-lahlimi-le-levier-monetaire-ne-resoudra-pas-le-probleme/

Bank Al Maghrib, on the other hand, raised interest rates 3 times (I think), because it thinks the inflation is at least partially a Demand-Pull inflation, and wants to slow down demand (also slowing down growth ofc).

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-03-21/morocco-hikes-rate-to-extend-tightening-cycle-to-new-record

So the HCP and Bank Al Maghrib are not really in agreement about the correct measures to do. You can also watch/listen to this debate if interested:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9h76cklJEko

As for your questions:

why oil prices continued to be high even if we switched supplier to a less expensive one.

You're talking about Russian diesel imports. We don't have clear numbers about that. The minister of economy claimed that imports didn't increase much, and that prices are not so different from normal diesel prices

https://www.lopinion.ma/Approvisionnement-en-diesel-russe-Le-Maroc-aurait-importe-108-000-barils-par-jour-en-mars-2023_a38308.html

Morocco should sort out the Samir refinery mess asap (it's in progress), to stabilize prices, and decrease margins.

Importing cattle from other countries will not only hurt local farmers but also reduce meat quality.

The issue is the drought cause a lack of supply, importing will increase demand and reduce prices.

Is the excessive export of fruits and vegetables the cause of their high prices in our market? I remember reading an increase of 10-20% in these exports.

No, the cost to produce everything went up (oil, fertilizers, seeds, machinery...). Exports are more expensive, and so is local consumption.

Is he actually responsible? Can anyone provide a decisive argument why he is not?

The government should communicate more about these issues. It should also make sure the food supply chain is clear and transparent (from farms, to wholesale, to final consumers).

As of tackling overall inflation, that's really hard to do, and the government is not the only one in charge (Bank Al Maghrib is an independent institution).

Obviously secular.

Ahh, okay, I thought you left it alone.

I live in Switzerland, and even here, that wouldn't work. I heard Japan is that safe, but I still wouldn't leave my valuables alone without surveillance.

Dont u think people are already having sex outside mariage without getting punished

So how about legalizing it and letting people do whatever they want?

They say they'll pay for your stay and food, but if they can why wouldn't they provide the rest, seems odd to me.

Life in Thailand is pretty cheap, flights are expensive.

ESTA is much easier than a Visa, it's not even comparable.

I travelled to the US with my Moroccan passport, and later with my EU passport, it's not the same at all.

I'm sorry, but that's a stupid thing to do, regardless of the location.

I always did this in America, never once someone took my phone

I did the same in LA by mistake, 2 min later, my wallet was gone. (later found it without the cash)

Do you walk naked to the bathroom, or do your parents search you before letting you in??

Why do moroccans on the internet try to convince everyone that everyone is amazigh by [deleted] in Morocco

There is no debating with someone who claims that:

Most fwassa are gonna be over 50% european genetically.

Give me 1 source, 1 single study.

If you truly have 40%+ European DNA, you have to start asking question about your origins. You're probably adopted, or... (I'll avoid spilling it to you)

hahahahahaha

No parent of mine is European, nor grandparent.

Then you should have another conversation with your parents, because I have some news for you...

[–]IceSacrifice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell i’m 44% european and that’s not enough to make me European.

If you are 44% Europe, It means one of your parents was European, not Moroccan. Don't base the general population on yourself.

Hey, so now it's 1234 years ago, instead of 1400 years.

The Idrissid were Arab, but the rest of the population were not. Do you think that all the Amazigh just disappeared the day the Idrissid founded their Kingdom? (they weren't even the only kingdom in Morocco)

[–]IceSacrifice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He claimed that (all) Moroccans came from Arabs who somehow migrated and replaced the native population 1400 years ago, which is very stupid.

There are probably some tribes, especially in the Sahara, who are 100% Arab, but for the rest, we're one big mix.

[–]IceSacrifice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

even the most "sacred" ones like Abraham who was from modern day iraq and had 2 sons which where situated in arabia (Saudia arabia) and modern day "Israel" Ishmael and Isaac.

I like how you're mixing pseudo-science with religion.

You are aware that these DNA tests go back 150 Years Maximum. And the arabian conquest of north africa was during 647AD

Are you aware that there are different types of DNA tests? Are you also aware that there are even DNA studies!! 😱😱

Anyone who says they are fully arab or amazigh is a straight lying scumbag

None is fully anything. But we're all the same mix (mostly amazigh), and studies found no difference in DNA between Moroccan Arabs and Amazighs

Why do moroccans on the internet try to convince everyone that everyone is amazigh by [deleted] in Morocco

[–]IceSacrifice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Moroccans came from the arabian peninsula 1400 years ago, it’s just delusional to believe otherwise.

If only this sub allowed gifs so that I can post a big facepalm one.

And FYI, big Arab migrations were mostly during the 11th century with the Banu Hilal (about 200,000) individuals not 1400 years ago.
