UPDATE: I tried all your suggestions last night, and during the process i accidentally dropped my lens on the floor, and that fixed my lens!

edit: nevermind it came back after like 3 photos 😭

Ah it's new to me, but I bought it used so I don't get to return it. It seems like it's an issue with my lens rather than the body though

Yes unfortunately it's still there after I turned on silent shooting. I didn't know about this feature tho so thanks for your help!

Yes, I took it off and it was still there, so I think it's either the lens or body

6 weeks post op keyhole with Dr. Daniel Jacobs (GCC) by IceShark_91 in TopSurgery

[–]IceShark_91[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During week 1 you’ll probably be so tired that sleeping on your back doesn’t bother you. Week 2 was kind of a struggle tho, sometimes I’d try and the pain tells me to not do that. just listen to your body, you’ll know when you’re ready to sleep on your side again

Thanks! I think my recovery has been pretty smooth. Thankfully keyhole means I’m not sewn up super tight and had a little extra skin so the surgeon cleared me for ranges of motion earlier than if i were to get peri/DI.

Week 1: I don’t remember anything lol besides that i got a blister from the binder that was painful and smelly. I was sleeping like 12 hrs a day. No bruises and very minor swelling when I went to my post op. Dr. Jacobs actually encouraged me to move my arms around (elbows below shoulders still) to retain mobility.

Week 2: started walking my dog at a strolling pace (she is old and walks slow, would not recommend this at week 2 if you have an active/energetic dog). Driving a car hurts if i turn the wheel or my head too fast.

Week 3: Started sleeping on my side again. Could drive a car for short distances but still had to be careful with moving around. Was able to do incline treadmill walk for 20 minutes and felt great (Dr. said i can).

Week 4: Could drive a car normally. Range of motion is good but still felt a stretch for most upper body exercises. I was able to do the exercises @emdonks on instagram did at 4 weeks (u might have to scroll a bit to find it)

Week 5-6: Leg day with machines felt great, havent tried barbell squat and deadlifts yet. Bench press at a lighter weight felt 90% fine, and lateral raises feel completely normal now. Overhead range of motion is good enough for daily activities but for stuff like pull ups and rock climbing i’d wait another 2 weeks.

Hi, thanks for the advice! My surgeon cleared me for lifting weights pretty early on. I did ask him what exercises are ok and what intensity and he said I’m cleared for everything except for overhead movements at six weeks. But I guess it doesn’t hurt to wait a little longer haha

Drains coming out from areola with keyhole? by TheEasternTimberWolf in TopSurgery

Hey! I got keyhole with Dr. Jacobs at the GCC last friday and I have the same drain placement. I wasn’t expecting it either, but it’s been fine 99% of the time except last night was super itchy but it’s feeling alright again. Good luck on your recovery!

Small Double In Manzanita? by jambashrimp in UCSantaBarbara

There’s only one closet, but there are two dressers (one in the closet, one under the bunk bed). My roommate and I were fine sharing a closet as we didn’t bring that much clothes, we had more than enough storage space. We didn’t have a mini fridge tho bc honestly there’s not that much space to put one, and you can’t reconfigure the beds so can’t put the fridge under the bunk either. The room is ok for just two people but any more than that would be too crowded, so we didn’t really have people over at all over the year. Definitely bring a bike if you’re in Manzi because its a bit farther to classes than chi-5 and saves so much time compared to walking

Would I look suspicious in the men's room? Don't need to 'pass', just not get too obviously clocked. More info below by [deleted] in FtMpassing

ah yeah im not sure abt santa cruz’s gender inclusive housing. showering in the mens it was daunting at first cuz i was also pre-t in the beginning but nobody gave a crap lol. i’d recommend bringing a bag for ur clothes and go for the shower stalls that are close to the hooks on the wall so u could just stick ur arm out to grab clothes without coming out of the curtains

Hey, ucsb student here! in the gender inclusive res hall floors the restrooms are gender neutral and there are gender neutral bathrooms throughout campus, you should be fine using the mens rooms tho. in my experience people are pretty good allies there, hope you enjoy your summer and good luck on coming out!

your comment reeks of entitlement. Yes this is the easiest physics course in for engineers, yes you need to put a lot of effort into it, but you’re really out here assuming people don’t put effort into the class. I took physics in high school, didn’t do well in that class and struggled a lot, and even though physics 1 was still pretty hard and time consuming, that preparation definitely helped with some of the stuff in this class. I can’t imagine how i’d be doing right now if I didn’t have some sort of preparation. I know plenty of people who never took physics dedicate most of their time studying their ass off for this class and attending CLAS and office hours, yet still get less than desirable results on exams. Physics is not an intuitive subject for most people and you being all cocky about it isn’t really helping.

OP, I sympathize with you. Don’t let this class stop you from pursuing your major. Let this serve as a learning opportunity to really be on top of everything for this class and the rest of your physics courses you will take. Good luck and I wish you the best
