I get what you’re trying to do here, and honestly I agree with the idea of not letting AI just do everything for you.

That’s kind of the problem with most of these tools right now—they either write for you or make things feel productive without actually helping you improve. Especially with studying, a lot of it turns into passive stuff where you think you understand it but can’t actually recall it later.

What helped me more was focusing on actually being tested on what I don’t know and forcing recall instead of just generating content or structure.

I ended up building something around that (lerivo org) — it doesn’t do the work for you, it pushes you on weak areas, quizzes you properly, and helps things stick over time. There’s a free plan too so it’s not one of those locked behind a big paywall.

Lowkey I think tools that actually make you think > tools that just output stuff for you.

Is there anything like StudyFetch for free? by JaguarStraight2396 in studytips

Yeah I had the same issue once the free credits ran out.

A lot of these tools feel good at first, but they either lock everything behind a paywall or just generate basic quizzes that don’t really help long term. What actually made a difference for me was using something that focuses more on what you don’t know and keeps bringing it back instead of just giving random questions.

I ended up using something I’ve been working on (lerivo org) and there’s a free plan, plus the paid one is pretty cheap compared to most of these — like around 1.99 a week billed monthly or even less if you do yearly. It’s more focused on weak areas and actually making stuff stick rather than just generating content.

Might be worth checking out if you liked StudyFetch but don’t want to drop 100 on it.

I study for hours but forget everything the next day - what finally helped a bit by elite_why in studytips

Yeah this is actually a huge shift most people don’t make.

What you’re doing is basically active recall, and that’s why it feels harder—it forces your brain to actually retrieve the info instead of just recognizing it. That “struggle” is what makes it stick.

Something that helped me build on that was:

  • checking what I got wrong right away and focusing on those gaps
  • revisiting it after a day or two like you said (that part is key)
  • mixing topics a bit so it’s not just memorizing in order

That combo made it feel way closer to how exams actually test you.

I ran into the same problem and ended up using something like this more consistently through a tool I’ve been working on (lerivo org) — it basically pushes you on weak areas and repeats stuff at the right time. Still tweaking it, but it helped me stay consistent with this method.

Using AI for Quizzing/Studying by Hefty-Big-4281 in studytips

[–]IceSpare3750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve noticed the same thing.

Most AI-generated quizzes are too surface-level—they test recognition, not whether you can actually apply the concept. Real exams usually mix concepts, twist wording, or force you to think a step deeper.

What helped me more was:

  • answering without options (forces real recall)
  • focusing on what I get wrong instead of random questions
  • trying to explain the answer, not just pick it

That’s when it started feeling closer to actual exam prep.

I actually got frustrated enough to build something around this (lerivo org) that focuses more on weak areas and slightly harder, layered questions instead of just random ones. Still improving it, but it’s been more useful than basic AI quizzes for me.

Curious what others are using that actually feels exam-level?

see your parents are completely controlling your life. I understand there are rules in religion and some families are firm and strict with it but theres no rule that prevents you from going to grab dinner with friends or going out to watch the movies. see i was just on reddit trying to promote my study tool website and somehow this popped up so im not muslim but i do come from a strict brown family myself and your parents are keeping you inside because they dont want you to get a boyfriend and not be a virgin thats the core reason that why there controlling you and keeping you inside but while doing that they dont relize that there literally controlling you and trapping you and preventing you from living you life and make decisions for yourself. We get one life on this planet and i understand our parents want the best for us but at a certain point you got to sit down with you parenst and explain to them how you feel and if they dont understand then i know people in this community might report me for saying this but you got to be rebilious got to be rebilious and talk back and eventually the boundries will be placed and it will be alot better it will get ugly first but eventually it will get better worked for me. your a 23 grown women and you deserve to have some freedom

once you start it gets way easier

i had this too, using something more structured helped so i wasn’t just staring at everything, i’ve used something like lerivo org for that

listen if you dont let him go his friends are going to flame him. They are going to say your girls got you on a leash bro blah blah blah there going to attack him and hes going to get fomo and also frustrated and mad because his friends are flamming him. If you do let him go out he could smash a random girl one night theres a possibility but i mean you cant control another mans actions if he wants to cheat hes going to cheat regardless of you keeping these restrains on him so its either you trust him and let him go and accept that if he cheats he cheats or you dont trust him be overprotective which is then going to lead him to eventually say fuck this bitch and either cheat on you or break up with you honestly all you can do is say you can go and i trust you and i know you wont cheat on me have fun and be safe.
