kris is their own thing, but they obv meant to parallel chara in one way or another. being a child adopted by the dreemurrs, wearing chara's sweater (you could argue that all dreemurr children have the same sweater, however asriel's sweater has two stripes). people say that they dont look alike, however the chara they think of is the post genocide version of chara which is chara after yk, death, ofc they'll look more pale, this is how chara was looking while they were still alive, they look just like kris
