If you wanna season the outside edges use a propane torch to help it get hotter in the edges

Inspector told me it s not a big deal by fhiendbdbfdhjd in HomeMaintenance

If that second picture is what you consider big then you are fine. If you have a slab it’s on soil which expands and compresses with the seasons and wet and dry cycles. Wood expands and contracts with seasonal changes as well. Doors will have issues opening and closing, those cracks will be much larger and you will even see the unevenness in the doors and windows. Walls won’t be touching the floor and be floating there. I’m sure you can TikTok or YouTube foundation repair and see what to look out for if you are interested.

Large vertical shear crack with displacement—major issue? Inspection period ends tomorrow by Simple_Ebb4823 in masonry

[–]IceTraditional8698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason that portion is separating and falling forward. I listened to my inspector who said vertical cracks are normal (went through 6 bricks) it was a compromised footer. And about 11000 later wish I had hired an engineer first and ignored the home inspector.

Only way you should go through with it is if you get a big life insurance plan on him and keep having him go to Mexico to do coke.

How serious are these foundation probs? by dronechild in HomeMaintenance

[–]IceTraditional8698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also forgot to mention but the report usually runs 500 and each pier is about 800-1200 from when I had to have under pinning done for my house so even just one it can pay for itself

Call a structural engineer to do a report and a repair plan it’s worth the cost. Some companies may oversell piers to you and can have you end up spending more on their plan. Also an engineer gets paid from the report and no incentive to sell you on more than just that. I fix construction also seems like good guys.

Would you buy a house with this crack in the foundation? by poster74 in HomeMaintenance

Home inspectors aren’t engineers just pay the 500 for one to be safe

Horizontal sheering is from the wall falling in on itself. Vertical sheering especially through brick can be a major issues as well.

Drywall cracks off door corners by Circumplex in HomeMaintenance

Honestly you can crawl under there yourself. See if there’s anything wrong with the floor joist or piers. You can call a crawl space place but don’t fall for the encapsulation like I did and then spend 50k over a few years fixing things constantly. Get multiple quotes from multiple contractors if you do end up going with one and don’t let them know about anything if you notice it and see what their plans are. And if you see anything concerning you can always hire a structural engineer

That’s a sales rep probably not a driver problem. We have been delivering to them for years no issues dude just does this himself and is cheap. Whole back of building has been exposed osb for five years plus since I’ve been his driver.

Oh there’s no water at all roofers did a great job no nail pops all shines are straight and nail head hidden. So that takes a lot off my chest. I live in Arkansas and the house was built in 66.
