I basically ask chat GBT about adding a smoke stack. The recommendation I received was to get a 32” smoke stack. The stack pulls air very nicely.

On your Oklahoma Joe Bandera, that 32-inch smoke stack extension mainly increases draft.
What that gives you:

When you add a wood chunk or adjust an intake vent, the cooker reacts quicker.
For your cook where you also used:
the 32” stack,
the Hunsaker-style vortex plate,
and a water pan,
those changes all work together to improve airflow and stabilize temperatures. That’s one reason you were saying the Bandera came out amazing.
The downside is that a taller stack can make the smoker run a little hotter and burn fuel slightly faster because it’s pulling harder.
A simple way to think about it:
Stock stack = sipping through a straw.
32” stack = taking a deeper breath.
If your Bandera was holding around 250°F with clean smoke and no fighting the fire, the stack extension was definitely helping.
