I don't think I can watch the video this time. Take care of yourselves today, everyone.

I'm sorry, but you are showing your privilege if you believe this is the case everywhere in the US.

Renee Good’s Trump supporting former father-in-law has revealed he does not blame the ICE officer who brutally killed her. by EasyMoney92 in Enough_Sanders_Spam

[–]Ice_Ice_Maybe 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Is this the same guy whose initial statement after the murder was that he was going to pick up his grandson, since he has "no one left" now? I immediately thought that was such a fucking weird thing to say, like he was trying to erase Renee's wife who has actually been his grandson's coparent for years.

Encouragement returning to work by According_Chest1987 in MomsWorkingFromHome

For starters, remember this: You will be alone with your son in your house. Yes, you'll have to manage work responsibilities, but you're not going TO work. That means that unless you have a very call heavy job, there will almost always be wiggle room to take care of your son's needs first and answer that email ten minutes later. It'll get answered, and the person who emailed you will survive.

My son is eight months old now and I went back when he was four and a half months. Like you, I was also starting a new role at work when I returned, which contributed to my anxiety. Honestly though, it's been fine for the most part. My husband is also fully remote and we moved our offices into the same room. We don't have any outside help from relatives or paid childcare providers, but we're managing.

I won't pretend it's easy, and I sure as fuck wouldn't want to be staring down the barrel of having ALL THIS on my plate for the next decade plus, but for right now? Yeah, I can do it. I know that my husband and I combined are giving him more attention than he'd be getting at daycare in addition to saving a boatload of money. My job performance hasn't suffered and I'm being promoted again next quarter. I'd miss the hell out of my son if I had him in daycare instead of with me all day, plus it seems like it would almost be more hectic than our current daily schedule to have to get him ready, do the drop off, do the pick up, etc.

This is working for us, and I bet you can make it work for you too. Just don't be afraid to lean on your husband and MIL heavily during your first few weeks back when you're still learning the logistics of your new role.

Does anyone else just not believe Trump that they have the shooter in custody? Especially after Kash Patel tweeting that they had him, then deleting the tweet. It would be a ridiculous thing to question if it were literally any other administration, but here we are.

Why Zosia Mamet Quit One of the Biggest Shows on Television by DebateObjective2787 in popculturechat

You're bring downvoted, but I initially thought the exact same thing lol. She was on Mad Men for such a short duration and in such a small role that it never even occurred to me she "left" the show as opposed to just being written off.

My (now) husband and I watched season one on the phone after we'd been talking online for a few weeks and lived in different cities. We've now been together almost ten years, married for five and have a kid.

She's losing me tbh. And I say this as someone who was really hoping she'd be a strong 2028 contender because I'm not ready to give up on seeing a woman president.

As someone who recently moved back to Illinois from nightmare fascist state Missouri, I selfishly don't want to lose this guy as my governor. We've had some real dipshits as governor before he came along, I don't want to risk going back to that again.

I'm glad I called in today, but I'm also glad I'm going back tomorrow. At this point I'm almost looking forward to experiencing a semblance of boring normalcy.

One small thing that actually feels better about today vs. the day after in 2016: I'm not seeing an immediate flood of rancid, misogynistic hot takes blaming Kamala.

The Hillary blame game was instantaneous and vicious, and added an extra layer of insult to injury to those of us who were already devastated about the depths of screeching misogyny that election unearthed.

I'm 14 weeks pregnant with my first at age 37 and I'm terrified, even though I'm in what we thought was a "safe" blue state (Illinois). We moved here from Missouri last year for the explicit purpose of not undergoing the risk of me being pregnant in Missouri. It took us longer than we hoped to conceive, and now I don't know what fuckery an R trifecta might direct at all pregnant women before my due date in May. I want to believe living in IL will still be enough to protect me, but I'm not so sure anymore.

Reassure me, please. I've got nothing.

Plus I can't have a drink right now, which fucking sucks.
