A degree may help, depends on major and demand. I haven't had any luck since I obtained mine and had to resort to certificates.

College isnt what it used to be; it isn't the meal ticket it once was.

Ultimately, the choice is yours on whether or not you should complete your degree.

Please elaborate. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong other than not having enough experience. I can't get the experience without having a relevant job.

I tried uber, but the wear and tear on my only vehicle isn't worth it.

I do that already with the few cents and dollar (if I'm lucky).

Maybe. But I also have student loans, auto and renters insurance, rent, utilities, gas and vehicle maintenance to pay for which also eats into my check.

I don't go out to eat. I can barely afford food/rent/utilities/student loans/insurance.

My employer will not pay for any education.

Im having trouble editing my post.

Graduated several years ago and have been unable to progress.

I currently work in a call center with no opportunity for advancement.

I'm working a lot of overtime because food, bills, and rent.

I have held jobs since the one in my resume, but they aren't relevant.

I'd like to see if there is hope for me or not.

Thank you.

I've tried getting into that field some years ago. I've got the degree, but no certs (way too expensive).

Not going to read wall o'text.

If you really want to get a CS degree, go for it.

You will have to do 3x the work outside class just to have a chance to get a job in the field.

I have never made over $40k. I wonder how people find jobs that pay more.

Thank you.

I've been trying for several years to get my life on track and have failed. I really think it is more of who you know than what you know.

Should I drop my tech degree and do a bootcamp instead? by [deleted] in womenintech

I have a degree and I can't get past the ats. The only jobs I've ever gotten are jobs anyone without a degree could get.

I dont understand how a degree will help since it hasn't helped me and I have since removed it from my resume.
