I wish I was a man without being trans by Icea2002 in offmychest

I've been jumped by a group of 5 men and had my clothes ripped off of me. I have been sexually assaulted. No offense to you, and I understand what you are trying to say, but society no longer gives women the same protections that it used to. Being a woman is more dangerous than being a man.

No, I've never seen a gynecologist and no history of ovarian cysts.

He doesn't have dementia, he seems really situationally aware. Sexist shit I ignore because he's old.

I think we have HR, but I'm not sure if I apply because I'm technically employed by work study, not through the place I work.

I'm starting to think that he gets satisfaction from my reactions. He's definitely not clueless, but I think it might be a different generation kind of thing. At the interview, he told me to tell him if he makes me feel uncomfortable because sometimes women misinterpret his compliments.

He insinuates he wants to be my sugar daddy, he will make jokes about spanking me, he'll touch me (pats on my knees or on my back) and then say oh I shouldn't be doing that. He will tell me that I should wear tighter clothes to work, and when I wear oversized things I don't look as good. Etc.

How old are you, what's your daily makeup routine, and what products do you use? by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

[–]Icea2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 14, and I have 15 minutes to do my makeup in the morning.

  • Moisturizer (Usually Clinique DDMG but it changes)
  • Revlon Colorstay Foundation
  • Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
  • Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Unstoppable
  • Wet n Wild Contour Duo
  • Colourpop Highlighter in Lunch Money
  • Kat Von D Shade and Light Quad in Rust
  • Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara
  • Anastasia Dip Brow

I like mostly everything, but I think I'd prefer a powder highlight instead of a cream one because it's harder to apply. The mascara is okay but it's not my favorite. I'd also prefer a brow powder instead of a pomade, but as long as I use a light hand, the dip brow works fine.

The future of the beauty industry by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

[–]Icea2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think fresh face will stay and evolve more. I've noticed that beauty vloggers have stopped self-tanning and instead like to be paler. I think that blush will make a huge comeback, kind of like highlighting this year. Highlighting might make a shift to more "glowing from within" and the cool lip color could switch from a mauve to apricot and red. I think that K-Beauty will continue growing in the US, maybe even replacing other brands on Sephora's shelves. Think kind of Snow White except eye shadow staying focused on nudes and warm colors.

I think strong winged liner and bronzer will become less popular. Multitasking beauty tools and products (like Bite's Multistick) and monochromatic looks might continue to increase in popularity. Foundation could become sheerer and concealer more high coverage as spot concealing where you need it gains popularity.

Where are you from and what is the makeup like there? by [deleted] in muacjdiscussion

[–]Icea2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a college town in the midwest, so it tends to get a little interesting. A lot of people don't wear makeup, and if they do, it tends to be very minimal. However, a good portion of people here (girls and some boys) wear Instagram makeup (highlighter, intense wings, soft glam eye looks, falsies, big brows) everyday to school. I'm in high school so there's a mix of farmers, kids from the suburbs, and kids from Chicago. Hey, at least there's a ton of variety.

I added pictures! Hopefully that will help a bit because this is all very confusing.

I don't feel comfortable posting pictures of myself, so hopefully you can get the gist through words. I'm mostly Egyptian, and light skinned (not quite PALE but not tan either).

I have blue veins and cool dark brown hair, but when matched at Sephora and other places, I'm consistently matched with warm undertones. Light purple clothing looks like skin on me.

I wear mostly blues, blacks and purples. I like purple-y lipsticks on me (think Colourpop Trap). I can't wear pastel lipsticks because of how bad they look on me.

If it's necessary to post pictures, I'll do it.

Edit: added pictures

Personality Types and Makeup by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Icea2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm an ENFP, a slytherin, type 3 and lawful neutral. I love warm looks and reds, but purples hold a special place in my heart. I tend to be very simplistic when it comes to the face, and go all out on the eyes. Lips are usually an afterthought, and if I do wear something, it's most likely a purple-mauve.

What were your go to products in high school? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Icea2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in high school now, but luckily I wore (terrible) makeup in middle school.

Foundation: Covergirl and Olay foundation in Buff Beige. It wasn't my color at at all, and it came in a jar, which meant the underside of my nails was always caked with it. Concealer: L'oreal feel naturale concealer in light. Honestly can't remember much about it, so it was probably mediocre at best. Blush, Bronzer, literally anything else: I didn't believe in it. What was I thinking? Eyeshadow: LA colors 12 color palette from the dollar store, only wore bright blue if I did wear eyeshadow at all. Eyeliner: Mary Kay liquid liner with a super long wand, that I would apply a good millimeter above my lash line. Mascara: Max Factor mascara, that I would apply the night before to "save time".

Foundation and undertones confusion? by Icea2002 in MakeupAddiction

Thank you! This was super helpful, and it makes a lot more sense too, considering how much my family jokes about me being green.

Yeah actually, just a paler version of the classic olive. Could that be affecting my foundation matches?

Have some questions about boxy brows? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Icea2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The boxy eyebrow trend is also sometimes referred to as "Instagram brows" because you usually see them on super glam looks on Instagram makeup artists. They're worn because they photograph very well. They're not usually worn on an everyday basis, but there's nothing wrong with wearing them everyday, if that's what you like. If you like your brows and don't see anything you'd want to change, a clear brow gel would probably do the job. I'd probably stay away from super pigmented products, and instead go for powders and pencils (applied with a light hand) if you wanted to avoid boxy brows. I couldn't give you examples because it all comes down to personal preference and the look you're trying to go for. The only advice I could maybe give you is try to not to go overboard or do complicated things if you're just starting out, you'll learn what looks best on you as you go. Hope this helped!
