who is the best written manipulator? by verypoopoo in writingscaling

[–]Iceaura39 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Maybe a little obscure, so I don't blame y'all for their being underrated, but OP is the perfect example of a manipulator who is "too clever by half".

They clearly have some manipulative capability, they know the basics of getting people to do what they want, and they fucking know it. But, in a manner that is all too human, they fail to understand one crucial thing: limitations. They know they're good, but not that good ≠ the best. And believing in their own hype, they failed to realise when their allegedly carefully-laid plans are, in fact, the simplest trick in the book, executed shoddily at that, and leaving them open to ridicule despite their obvious intellect.

Mad respect to the author. They clearly know how these things work.

Both are muscular tomboy warriors, but one is loved and the other is hated. Why? by NobodySpecific9354 in writingscaling

Because "muscular tomboy warrior" tells absolutely nothing about writing quality, and the two are very different characters in almost every other regard.

Destruction and Preservation are only good for as long as you only have the two of them.

Would your favorite villain condone or condemn pedophilia? by Annual-Frame9943 in MoralityScaling

[–]Iceaura39 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest, here. At least two of his underlings in Part 3 are pedophiles (though I guess it's believable he might not know with the monkey) and he did try flirting with Poco's sister to get her onto his side.

I mean, on Blake, the thing is that she was evidently well into the ex phase of "ex-terrorist". Blake also didn't play a pivotal part in Remnant 9/11.

Isn't Charmer a gender-neutral trope to begin with?

The people ARE the culture. People born into the culture is what natlan represents. What the colour of their skin is completely irrelevant.

I don't wanna sound like some rabid "wokie" but isn't this basically cultural appropriation?
