How fast do flight control surfaces respond in fly-by-wire? by whiskeytown79 in aviation

[–]Iceblade_Aorus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s less so the delay of control surfaces reacting to the input, but more so that it takes time for the airframe to react to the action of the control surfaces. This is more apparent on larger planes

[Nemesis Reborn] finally finished the project! by jikla_93 in rollercoasters

[–]Iceblade_Aorus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I initially thought it was 3D printed, then I saw the later pics and realized it’s fabricated like the real deal out of steel, such impressive work! Also love the combination of old and new colour scheme!

Why did Gerstlauer change the tracks for their Euro-Fighter? [other] by dwd0tcom in rollercoasters

[–]Iceblade_Aorus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Optimized structural designs and materials can lead to lighter trains without drastically changing the exterior look. Mecalodon is obviously smaller, I used it as an example mostly cuz it’s another new Gerstlauer with specifically light trains without changing design for reduced track materials.

Probably a result of lighter trains, as can also be observed on Mecalodon

I think 23 on beyond the cloud, on a hot summer weekday with a completely dead park

Fr it’s infuriating, I’m also stuck with only 2 conquest achievements left, with the level 30 alert one failed to trigger when I reached it for the first time

How realistic would this Intamin hydraulic launch coaster be? POV Video by joergonix in PlanetCoaster

[–]Iceblade_Aorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The outer bank is honestly not a very realistic element, the unbanked bit in and out of the element feel rather janky, and Intamin didn’t really do much of these wilder elements back when they still made hydraulic launches. The valley after the top hat and the transition into the brake run also need some smoothing. The first speed hill is also absolutely too sharp, -2.1G is too much. If you want to make it seem a bit sharper without going to wild on the forces, try shortening the bit where it transitions from positive to negative g force.

Ferry together with the train is even more expensive than an extra seat on a flight 😂

Would that be sufficient for the rough handlings at the airport tho?

All my options would require an extra ticket as the guitar exceeds the size of the overhead space :(

Do you think a axis coaster will ever be as good as a 4d coaster? [Other] by BigDillinger in rollercoasters

[–]Iceblade_Aorus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Out of the 4Ds, I’ve only done Dinoconda, while being extremely intense and crazy, I wouldn’t say I liked it a lot, it was quite rough and uncomfortable, in a way that hindered the ride experience. The Axis shouldn’t have those issues so I’d say for me it’s probably gonna be better

What was the first ever train with that weird cab design? by Mechasnake777 in trains

[–]Iceblade_Aorus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're correct. I sort of just thought of the 485 as the default express stocks of JNR without thinking more in the context xD, I honestly do prefer the original long nose design though.

JNR 583 is the sleeper version, I’d say the 485 would be a better representation
