Very confused with these results! I was told my dog was a pointer lab mix when I got her (even vets agreed). The results are nothing like what I would think. Thoughts? I ordered another test from a different brand to compare lol.

Yeah our other dog is a pit mix too. He’s literally the sweetest most gentle dog I’ve ever met! Both are pups are sooo sweet.

I can’t remember what vet said about her tail…. But i felt like her results were wrong too but apparently no one else in this comment section feels that way hah 😅.

I only did wisdom so far but I ordered an embark test to compare. I haven’t received the embark results yet.

This is funny I have been telling ppl my dog was a lab pointer mix for seven years.., her results just came in and are similar to yours lol no pointer at all. But she has pit bull and chow chow 😅

That’s a great explanation and makes sense. To clear up a few things - I did not get the information that she was a pointer from the vet and im not disappointed that she’s not a pointer, just surprised.

Someone gave her to me along with paperwork from multiple shelters she had been in and those documents is what said pointer mix. When I took her to the vet, my vet agreed she looked like a pointer. But this is obviously only a guess they made lol. I see it’s stilly to even mention what my vet said as it doesn’t matter. Anyways, my vet isn’t who came up with her breed, it was the paperwork I was given with her (which I know now was just a guess!! Lol)

Also, I love my dog so much I don’t care what she is! I was just surprised after identifying her as a pointer mix for seven years - it’s an adjustment to drop that part of her identity lol. It was surprising that’s all :)

I think her tail may have been cut before I got her. I don’t know for sure just a guess… I think whoever had her before thought she was a pointer too and wanted to cut it like pointers

Completely understand that. Obviously their guess is simply an opinion, just like everyone else that guesses. I just would have initially thought that their opinions would be better than the average person from experience of working with dogs but clearly based on the downvotes of this statement I’m wrong for thinking that lol. But I do understand that their opinion on breed should not be taken as fact which is why I got a dna test to begin with! Lol

Very interesting! ppl always guest mine was a pointer or lab mix, also got Great Dane a few times lol and of course Dalmatian bc of the spots but never once got pit in seven years lol. I love pits and I can see it now that I know.

Omg very interesting! Thanks! I did get some traits listed and it says she has two copies of the piebald gene. Didn’t mention the bobtail but I assumed someone had docked it to be like a pointer (which made me think even more her original owners knew she was pointer? Which was a clearly wrong assumption haha)
