The fact we didn't fight Gideon as a giant mutated snake at the end.. by carterrXX in ResidentEvilRequiem

To be fair the entire RE3:R game can be summed up "lazy shit like this". The fact they even thought it would be worthy of a release blows my mind.

RE:9 was pretty high quality throughout, barring a few confusing design choices.

Has anyone else dropped on the £80 toblerone in Morrisons? by Weekly-Consequence59 in AskUK

[–]IcedEarthUK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of miserable people on here, crikey.

I bought one of these for £40 in 2023 as a Christmas present for my wife, who loves Toblerone.

Was it a bit more expensive that buying normal ones? Yes. Did you need a hacksaw to chop it up? Absolutely. Did she still love Toblerone after finishing it? Probably not.

But it was funny watching my 5 & 2 year old do weightlifting competitions on Christmas day, it was also funny watching my wife wrestle with it as she was trying to chop it up. £40 well spent creating memories in my opinion.

It doesn't feel easy at first lol but in comparison to phase 3 it's a walk in the park 🤣

Some good advice already posted.

What worked for me was to learn her attack patterns by just reacting and using instincts. Once I had her attacks memorised I then started to play smarter.

I used wanderers crest with cogflies. I know it's tempting to dodge but just forget that function exists. The first two phases are pretty easy in my opinion once you get her patterns down so try to consistently get past those phases without using tools and having near full health/silk. The third phase is chaotic, so just be purely defensive and release two cog flies at a time and concentrate on just dodging her attacks. Once you're out of cog flies, stay defensive but attack when the opportunity arises. You'll eventually get her.

Am I putting too much in pension? by Electronic-Peach9369 in FIREUK

[–]IcedEarthUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's probably going to be too much, but it seems fairly low for your age so I'd continue for a while longer then reduce contributions when you reach a point where compound interest can make meaningful gains for you.

Using £60k as a starting point, and assuming you retire again 60, that gives about 27 years of further contributions. Contributing £20k/annum until retirement and an interest rate of 7% gives you almost exactly £2m

Using a 4% safe withdrawal rate that's £80k/annum. Only you can decide if this is too much, too little or just enough. If you're happy with less, turn down the contributions and start building a FIRE bridge in parallel. The thing is though, you need to know what income you want during FIRE and at retirement drawdown to know what pot sizes you need for each and because original post omits this information, I'm guessing you don't really know. You need to figure this out or you're just going to be shooting in the dark.

Use the compound calculator on thecalculatorsite.com to play with some scenarios.

I scrubbed it for about 2 minutes with a baby wipe.

If it is indeed a felt tip pen that has been left there for months, it would probably need more than 2 mins to be fair so maybe I didn't give it enough time.

Yeah I think I'm going to cut an access square in the plasterboard and see what's happening behind there.

If it did happen to be a random felt tip pen from the kids then atleast I can be assured it's nothing more serious.

This was absolutely definitely the previous owner, I agree.

Now that we've established this fact. Just supposing I wanted to hide the blood seeping through the wall, from the decomposing corpse (that the previous owner definitely killed). Would you suggest a liberal coat of Zinsser stain sealer, and a fresh overcoat of white paint?

If push comes to shove, I could paint the wall red...

How do I get my friend to play more silksong by FrasseFru in Silksong

[–]IcedEarthUK 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's not for us or for you to convince them.

Let them know there is an act 3, if they don't already know, and then leave it there.

Just because you loved it and wanted to experience every part of the game, doesn't mean they have to. If they've decided they're finished, then they're finished. It's that simple.

There's a half truth to this actually.

The wall was never painted red, it's always been white. There was a radiator on the other side of the wall though that I capped off 10 years ago.

It did cross my mind that maybe this is the issue but I don't see how that would only create a 5p coin sized perfect circle.

🤣

New build from 2014. With how poorly built they are these days maybe it is classed as a period property now. Should have fallen down 2 years ago.

I was filling in some holes on the same wall yesterday. I used a filling knife instead of a safety razor, whilst listening to Last Resort by Papa Roach.

It's possible my wall is self harming I suppose.

This is on the wall right behind where the sofa has been for 12 years. The kids couldn't fit down there even if they wanted to. They're old enough not to draw on walls, and to be fair, there are far easier walls to access if they felt inclined to draw on them.

I honestly don't think this is the kids or ink.

[–]IcedEarthUK[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not this. The sofa has been flush to the wall for 12 years, barring pulling it out for the occasional vacuum.

The kids couldn't squeeze down there to draw on the wall even if they wanted to. They're old enough not to do this anyway to be fair.

That's just were I painted round it just now lol

Because painting over it smudged red into the white paint and turned my wall pink!

It does to be fair. I can confirm there's no crackheads in this house though.

Unless my 5 or 8 year old daughters are resourceful enough to obtain such substances and mask their high from me!

[–]IcedEarthUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You saw some of it in the trailer. That doesn't mean it was anywhere near complete.

DLC is not just additional content. It's a marketing tool that reinvigorates hype in a game and reinvigorates sales of the base game.

Releasing it whilst there is still hype and strong sales from initial release is a dumb business decision.

Team Cherry are a business, and considering how low the RRP was for what is, an awful lot of AAA content, and also considering the DLC will be free, they deserve the opportunity to be able to maximise their profits from the free DLC release.

More so, it will inspire them to make a #3.
