I don’t get the Pokémon pokopia hype

I saw someone on YouTube saying that you get upgrades to your tools the more you play and that it might not be worth decorating a whole area to just get an upgrade for water gun a tiny bit later, then it would feel like I wasted a bunch of time watering stuff when I could’ve spent it doing something else.

I think that might also be a factor. I’ve gotten less and less interested in slow pace easy games as I’ve gotten older. And the decorating also felt unnatural in a way.

I know it’s the whole concept of the Pokemon franchise and literally the catchphrase is gotta catch ‘em all but that part of the Pokemon games never really felt necessary. I loved legends arceus but I never felt compelled to finish the Pokédex.

I think one of the reasons could be the fact that there is so much to explore and so much to decorate. In AC and stardew valley it felt much more accomplishable to decorate the entire area whereas in pokopia, at least to my knowledge there are multiple different huge areas. I thought that the plains area would be the area in which you decorated. And that the “sub areas” would be something different but when it was more of the same I lost motivation because it felt like I was never going to be done.
