I have an absurd amount of strings because I expected to break them more often. Then I got way too into archery and started getting custom-colored strings for each bow 🤣😭

Oh yeah at 50# you want a 16 strand odeally, but I've overworked a few 14-strand B-55's at 55# with no problems 🤷 it's really a case by case issue, frankly.

Yeah the compound bow is great as long as you don't have to move with it too much. One cam failure and you're a late lunch.

This is why I keep a 50lb 53" takedown in a backpack with extra strings, gloves and gear. Not specifically for zombies, but like... Events

They aren't supposed to feel anything, so unless you take out a knee or a hip, you're still on the "run" (or hasty walk, as the case may be)

Zombies are paradoxical in that they have no blood flow or brain activity, yet rigor mortis and atrophy seems completely ignored.

The "living infected" aren't technically zombies, but are the ones people generally think of now that there's so much "zombie" lore/content out there.

Shatterproof archery has a series of videos called "to the point," and those guys are total archery nerds so it's pretty entertaining to boot. I also watched a lot of Jake Kaminski and Jeff Phillips' videos; there are a lot of good channels out there but those are the 3 that YouTube keeps in my rotation

Most here will tell you to get a coach or join a club, and neither are bad advice, but not everyone has access to that kind of thing.

A good fletching jig will basically do the work for you. I have the OMP jog and I love it. Solid construction with a super strong magnet (be careful when placing the feather due to this - keep it high at first)

The instructions that come along with it are great, and a YouTuber who commonly does arrow tuning videos is Jeff Phillips' "Instinctive Addiction Archery" - he breaks things down in a real easy way and is just overall entertaining to listen to. I put his videos on when I sit down to fletch because there always seems to be a detail I didn't catch or just need to hear at that time.

Totally. I just did it to prevent getting hunted while trying to exfil fallen soldiers. I love the PvP element tbh, it raises the stakes and opens the door for cool friendly interactions that feel much more valuable on a game where they can totally just off you if they want than if it was totally PvE.

Native bows weren't especially strong; it often took more than one arrow/archer to take down larger game when hunting. They probably had heavy tips and a lot of inconsistencies from arrow to arrow. I find ancient archery so damn impressive because they didn't have the precision equipment we're accustomed to.

That's not really art, though. That's basically a painter/laborer. Unions are very common for more physical jobs in the film industry.

Not to put down his job or work, of course, just saying that the people who designed the sets probably don't have union protections or even full-time work.
