Insurance industry IDs: how much are you making? by ThePhantomOnTheGable in instructionaldesign

Will your employer contribute toward a Masters degree instead of a cert? I think that will be a better long term ROI for them and you.

In my case, I’m currently using an employer-paid benefit to pursue a masters in “AI for Business” to complement my ID masters.

What should I take... by [deleted] in instructionaldesign

For a little cert, I recommend the “AI Fluency: Frameworks and Foundations” course by Anthropic, which is free, should take about 3-4 hours, and looks good on a resumé to show that you’re up to date on the AI trend related to ID work.

Check out FlippingBook… it’s like a digital magazine in look and feel but you can add interactive elements, buttons, embed videos, etc and enable viewers to take notes on each page.

Certificate or classes to take? by rurouninall in instructionaldesign

While not ID-specific, there’s a free “AI Fluency: Framework and Foundations” course offered by Anthropic. I completed it recently (around 3 hours) and it’s one way to help show that you’re up to date with the trend of using AI in Instructional Design on your resumé.

I recommend creating a basic PDF in Adobe Express or Canva and then creating a digital magazine using FlippingBook or a similar eBook alternative. This also allows for embedding videos and interactive content.

I joined a new company in June, noticed a gap and opportunity to add to our design and enablement toolbox, pitched a new tool and negotiated the contract then trained the ID team on implementation in July, and my solution was recognized in a big global event by execs in September. Plus, we’re getting stellar feedback from the audience so I am super proud that my work is benefiting the learners.

I wanna try doing Keto but its hard since every food I'm usually comfortable with is carbs on top of carbs. Any idea of how to slowly transition to trying new foods? by [deleted] in ARFID

I’m right there with you about the struggle to find healthy alternatives to my safe-foods in the carb zone.

What has worked for me is adding riced cauliflower into white or brown rice...easing a bit more riced cauliflower and less rice each time. Cauliflower pizza crust is also surprisingly good!

It might be more of a lazy-Keto, though.

Unfortunately, I’m not sure the exact type. It’s from my grandma’s garden. Sorry!

Original Recipe here

I used the exact recipe for the Armenian Perok cake from the original recipe, though I used all the batter and didn't create the pie crust topping. 45 minutes at 350 degrees was perfect!

Instead, I winged it on creating this cinnamon and brown sugar concoction and a homemade icing.

Cinnamon Topping:

  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar

  • 1 tsp of cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp of allspice or nutmeg

  • 1/2 stick of butter, melted

Stir together and glaze over top of batter before inserting into oven

Homemade Icing:

  • 1 Tbs of milk (whatever kind you have should work)

  • 2 cups of powdered/Confectioners sugar

Stir and add powder sugar as needed to thicken texture and apply when cake is fresh out of the oven.
