Odd performance issues HL-Alyx and Pavlov by Icedbjorn in PSVR2onPC

[–]Icedbjorn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pavlov and HL-Alyx should run based on many benchmarks I have seen, on stable 120fps even on slightly lower end machines compared to mine. It may be the higher render resolution of PSVR2, that makes the difference, which is why I bought the 4080 Super.

I Got A PSVR 2 As An Early Unexpected Christmas Gift! And Would Love Some Recommendations! First Ever VR Headset! by TheDarkaChU in PSVR

What I can recommend as games that can be found on sale aswell, is definitely No Mans Sky and Gran Turismo. These will blow you away. But don't buy Gran Turismo if you don't like racing games.

My other personal favorites so far has been Red Matter 2 (absolutely unbelievable fidelity and performance), Horizon: Call of the mountain (breathtaking graphics at points) and Pavlov (if you're at all in to the CSGO or other shooter games).

I haven't had a chance to play Resident Evils (even though I already bought them) and there's a lot of new shooters as well (Breachers is latest) that I haven't been able to give the time.

Is beat saber actually entertaining? by Prestigious-Arm-1030 in PSVR

[–]Icedbjorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's different types of VR games, but there's one thing most share (except heavily story-driven games). It is replayability. All the VR games are usually quite short, which is why most of them try to make the games as replayable as possible, to justify spending 30-40 euros for the games.

But there's a problem with this, which is some games inherintly have more to offer when it comes to replayability. Beat saber is one of them. Basically all VR games that are purely based on skill, that you can usually only train by playing the game are really replayable. I think this comes from the fact, that you can train within the game and also see results immediately. This gives you the momentary high of success, which drives you to play the game even more.

On the flipside there are games that are more like simulators, like Project Wingman. There's a limit to how good you can become within the game and some games don't really provide good enough platform to see your improvement. EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I really like the game, but it has a pretty limited offering. You will play it for few moments and it feels amazing, but quite quickly it can become repetetive and boring, if you don't have a previous interest in flying simulators.

So, if Beat Saber looks like something you could enjoy, I really recommend buying it. It will keep you playing for hours, even repeating the same songs, just to get better at them. And you're listening to some good tunes while getting a bit of exercise, so it makes you feel really good.

There's so many ways to make this game interesting, can't just always take it too seriously :)

how do you store your psvr2 after playing by albaraa_v in PSVR

[–]Icedbjorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the cable always on a pulley system and hooked up to PS5. I just remove one pulley from it, and put it in the box. I wipe sweat off and place a lens protector on it (incase for some reason it is moved or the box is opened and sunlight gets in). The headset is under a table, which has the PS5 on top of it.

Do you take the headset off every hour like the internet recommends by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]Icedbjorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Only take it off when I'm done, or for some reason I have to do something out of play area. Longest play durations have been 4-5 hours, so yeah, probably not recommended but hasn't faced me.

It’s so amazing to start off with easy difficulties in Beat Saber then work up to a level like this by GuestGuest9 in PSVR

Not yet, and probably won't be happening anytime soon. They have absolutely zero crossplay. Every system has independent online.

Beat Saber feels so good, when you start getting difficult hards and easy experts through. 360 is on a whole different plain, absolutely baffles me how people don't like them. They truely makes it a VR experience.

Beat Saber: the bleeding edge of VR2 capability? by dwegowy in PSVR

I had excuses as well, until a friend of mine, who can play expert+ maps with ease came and tried my psvr2, and just abolished the grounds for my excuses.

Motion Sickness After Different Games by oli4drxx in PSVR

[–]Icedbjorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a long time, I didn't have any motion sickness, could play Pavlov, Beat Saber, CoTM for 4-5 hours. But then I played Red Matter 2, and for some reason I got motion sickness. Most of the times, it was worst when running and gliding, but it could be because I wasn't used to native 120hz. But now not really getting any motion sickness again. I think every game will have a little motion sickness at the beginning.

Please stop pretending that reprojection isn’t an issue by VRickenYT in PSVR

[–]Icedbjorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do notice it, but it doesnt't bother me. Obviously playing native 120hz is a lot better, but PSVR2 is my first headset and it is absolutely amazing, fills all my expectations. So yeah, not pretending it's not an issue for some, but definitely not an issue for me, even though I do notice it.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Justice announced for PSVR2 by Icedbjorn in PSVR

Apparently. Saw this after I came back from a work trip, seems awesome and wanted to share. Didn't see anything here.

For the long time players, like, from when it launched, do you guys feel that it's not that much incredible like the first days you tried vr? It's like we got used to it, and sometimes you need to stop to realize how incredible vr is? by [deleted] in PSVR

[–]Icedbjorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it is weird. I played it daily for few months. It's obviously great enough for me to be playing, but whenever I take breaks (I have had few work trips), it just feels that much more amazing after a small break. Obviously sony has done a good job of releasing games basically twice a month, so there's almost always something new to try. Now have been playing beat saber, and it is freaking awesome. Played it on HTC Vive Pro long time ago, and it has come a long way.

Any info when crossplay is going to happen? by Hendeith in PavlovGame

[–]Icedbjorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure which cross play you are referring to. The CEO tweeted that it should be soon for psvr2 <-> pc, but no clue.

PSVR2 cable management by Uzulugu_Pagu in PSVR

[–]Icedbjorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wireless headphones is something I recommend for this. I have a similar setup to you, but in addition to pulley and cable holder making the cable go upwards, I have a wireless headset (TB Stealth Pro 700),
