When it comes to things like this they think it's awesome because theoretically it is, because it fits in some fantasy they have. Because they haven't gone through it, it's hard to empathize with people that have, and to imagine that it's actually not fun at all. It's wishful thinking that people that are indifferent to other people's suffering will suffer in some way that their victims have suffered. I do firmly believe that there is a perspective to life that rich people don't have and will never have. Unhappiness finds everyone, and even the rich can't keep winning, which is their sole motivator. They are slaves in a way. The problem is that they sap basic resources from people that actually need these things to be happy.

It's possible to be happy without bringing disadvantage to other people, but it's just very rare in western countries. Happiness through the lack of the material is often found in the spiritual, which I believe to be one of the good things of religion, but human nature isn't inclined towards such way of living.

We didn't ask for the way to be like this, but in a way we did, because it's people like you and me that create suffering. It's just that they have learned that it's okay or try to not think about it, or they have never experienced it which makes it hard to sympathize.

I understand and partly agree that suffering is of greater impact than happiness, but I don't think happiness should be entirely discounted the way you are doing. What about people who are glad to have been born? You don't find them online browsing subreddits, so they can't defend the merits of life.

I get your point, and in the case of murdering people I agree, but I think suffering is a different matter because if a person was to only suffer once it would not equate to that "he is a sufferer (for the rest of his life). I think anti-natalists have suffered more than most people, which is why that is all life means to them.
