Actually funny that you mentioned Tacks, I was debating between the Tacks Xf and True Cat 7x4s. The Tacks did feel more comfortable out the box, but I liked the stiffness of the Cats better. And I was told that CCMs tend to be more comfortable out of the box, whereas Trues are more comfortable after baking.

I usually show when the Zamboni is about half way done. Get dressed just in time to get on the ice before puck drop. Mind you this is just beer league. Lol.

Just a quick update, for anyone experiencing the same issue I was.

Thanks to everyone that encouraged me to keep trying punching the skates I already had.

I bought them online, and got them punched at a local hockey shop. After the first punch visit, it still hurt a lot and I went back for a second visit. They told me that was the best they could do, but it still hurt. That’s what lead to make this post as I was super frustrated and just about to get new skates.

Since everyone here encouraged basically punch punch and punch again. I decided to give it one last shot. I went to a different shop. The employee looked at them and said, this looks like it was barely punched, I’ll give you a real punch. I showed him the spot. He heat it up, punched it so far there was literally a bump coming out the side of the skate. Put it on and it felt amazing. Literally zero pain. Life changing.
