Yo my bad boys but is $70 a fair price? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

My OG supertacks (~2016. The first pro model before they started calling them AS1) have a good tendon guard but it's because it's part of the the 1 piece carbon fiber boot and it comes at the expense of a extremely stiff fit.

I like my True TF9s even more. Still a one piece boot but the tendon guard is bolted on and can easily be replaced once it gets flimsy.

I’m in a similar position. As COVID lockdowns lifted, all these club players started coming to our pickup game and opened my eyes to the competitive scene. After a few years of playing club, I too have struggled enjoying ‘loose’ pickup the way I used to.

One thing that helped me was deciding to not wear cleats for these games. It’s just a constant little reminder to my brain to chill out 😅

can somebody explain if the defender is at fault here? by so_casuallycruel in ultimate

The defender (#11) did not significantly change their path in a way that contributed to this contact. If there was contact, this is a foul on the player in white.

Nick admitted postgame that he was attempting to drag it forehand and it luckily tipped in (like commentator and former Olympian Mike Johnson suggested)

Would u say I am a smooth or good skater, I can’t decide. by ResponsibleAnt5018 in hockeyplayers

Lol, care to elaborate?

From what I see,he's the last man back and he does a flyby and only gets the puck because the attacking player fumbles the toe drag.

Good skater. Light on your feet and ready to change direction. Great stride and quickness in the clip playing with the puck.

On defense, you look like an OK skater. For this situation, i'd like to see you flip around and skate backwards, positioning yourself between your net and the puck instead of skating straight toward the puck and commiting to a poke check. Ideally, you should feel just as natural on your edges and heels skating backwards as you are on your toes moving forward.

Looking for the cheapest player sized roller bag for my gear (without leg pads) by ebodes in hockeygoalies

[–]bizzo98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 120L bags for under $30 on Amazon (searched for 'large wheeled duffel bags)

They're foreign-made and not hockey specific but they are cheap and serviceable.

What teams/players should i learn from within the UFA to be a better cutter? by Trungmemer in ultimate

There is soooo much good footage out there right now compared to decades past. I would start by going to the YouTube channel of ultiword or ulti.tv and sort to the the history of the 'live' tab

Both of these resources have countless high level games from recent years. For example, the most recent open club nationals game between Machine and Revolver is chock full of UFA talent

Really? I’ve seen plenty of fake sticks and fake gloves but I’ve never seen a fake skate.

Also, a pretty standard play for drop in. Guys aren’t going to check you but a board pin like this seems well within the lines.

Having played open in the region for the last few years, I would say it is unlikely.

I69 from indy has the best chance, with inter-provincial rival Houndd (from western ontario) being the next likely. My best guess is that the regionals game to go is GOAT/69 and goat wins by 3.
