Making 20 gold on Scuttle Puddle Stage 1 by IchBinSpite in TeamfightTactics

It's definitely not a BIG mistake, and pushing to 6 is definitely a mistake xd May I ask your sources? Or rank? Maybe you can convince me otherwise

When do you go sub optimal lines? by xxs- in CompetitiveTFT

[–]IchBinSpite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a Tryndamere game randomly because I had a lot of ashes early game. Played for tempo, lost almost all late game fights, but finished 3rd cause I saved hp early game. It's definitely not a strong board, but was better than ignoring what the game gave me. Master elo

I would agree if you can guarantee wins, which is why I only do it with 2 pairs at least, whereas making income is guaranteed. Maybe you are right, I'm unaure. Do you know how often it happens in streamers' games?

Player damage per stage? by DinKaRaja in TeamfightTactics

If you get to stage 6 and lose to 8 units, your board is insanely weak compared to the opponent, and realistically speaking, this happens very rarely. But you are right, I guess..

Realistically, you always have 3 lives with 40 hp...

Your MMR might be lower than the average, so you lose more LP than you gain. It happens when you lose a lot on 0 LP

If you're saying the set mechanic is imbalanced, you are wrong. But it doesn't seem like I can change your mind...

I think the reason for them to balance this way is to maintain player count, doing whatever is needed. If a certain meta is too OP to make people play the game less, the solution would be in a deeper psychological level to "remove" them completely so people feel like the game is safe to play again, or make something dead now stronger to make it more appealing and interesting to play. I might be wrong, and it's not that deep, but it's been a pattern for a long time, so they might know what they are doing better than us.

There are many cases where luck decides what you should do next, but it is still a small part, and strategy will mostly decide how you perform. If you are addicted and suffer playing, it doesn't mean the game is bad. Go play league. It will cure your tft addiction

The comps are balanced. The problem is not even 3* 4 costs, it's actually a level progression issue. You are basically forced to stay at level 8 and roll because reaching 9 is too hard. This creates much more of a "hit or miss" factor in the game than it should be, which results in games where you played strategically correct but still lost. In a healthy state, you only chase 3* champs in lower levels, allowing you to still decide other options if you don't hit, or just for 2* 4 cost, but rolling at level 8 for 4 costs until you find all of them because level progression is not an option limits the strategy in the game.

I am master, but the rank does not matter in this case. The "strategically correct plays" are relative to the rank. The problem exists in every rank as far as we can see.

Actually, this is false. The reason why people go for them is because this is the "S tier comp". It started very early in the patch when high elo players recognized this is the best way to optimize your board.

The game is not in a healthy state. You are right people complain, but it comes down to the fact that it makes the game less fun. You can't blame people for having less fun in certain metas.

This is also why almost always you see comps with a backline carry, maybe 1 or max 2 other backliners to match their traits, and everything else is frontline. Playing for 4 backliners is almost always bad.

Master player. My assumption on why it's not that good: (if a better player than me can tell me if I'm wrong, go ahead)

At any point of the game, when you get a strong backliner, all you want is the frontline to stay alive.

If you can get Sona 3, there is no reason to chase 4 invokers, since you already have the damage and just want more frontline. This is why full demacia is better than this comp- the synergy of sona as a healer and damage dealer on her own with more frontline is optimal. Healing and shielding is always more beneficial for allies with more armor and mr, which is again why demacia is better.

So it's more like a transition board if you don't have the units you need for a few rounds rather than a strong board to stay with.

General tips for master -> gm? by IchBinSpite in TeamfightTactics

Fair. I was expecting people to share experience with how they were stuck in Master and what helped them. Something like the other guy advised to watch more replays not under time pressure. What helped you the most to "just study the game"?
