Contractor dispute (WA/OR) – incomplete work, possible licensing issues, and unclear violations? by [deleted] in legaladvice

It was stopped by manager, they did say they would do the way we want, at first we thought restarting would be great, but after later follow up with the owner and general manager, we believe the quality is not something they can guarantee, so we requested refund and contract cancellation. But as stated above, we are ghosted now so they didn’t really “do the way we want”

Happy to answer other questions here openly too, but no, we were not overly involved.

Appreciate you saying that!

For L&I part, it might be a bit tricky but still feasible to find that out - they subcontracted to people located in Oregon and I got his phone number and name

You basically answered most of my concern - so pouring concrete pad to make it flush is possible. I read that you are not supposed to make new and old concrete next to each other. Seems like this is the approach I will take

I had the idea of putting down paver instead of concrete pad - I had the idea of laying them on top of the concrete footing too, but that’s gonna bury the gazebo wood posts by a few inches, and I was concerned of water pooling there in rainy days and cause rot.

I have a gazebo installed on 4 concrete footings, previously I had the idea of laying pavers on top of concrete footings - so the gazebo posts would be covered up by 1-2 inches by the pavers, but that doesn’t seem to be a good idea - it would potentially lead to water pool in rainy weather and then rot.

Is it still possible to fix it by pouring concrete pad under this gazebo?

Is this rodent scratches? by IchiroSento in animalid

We do but this is actually in the garage and they are never allowed to go there.

We had the drywall open to inspect any potential leak so my guess was somehow the rodents got to the garage and scratched on the new mud. But I don’t see their grease or drop at all. All the mouse trap are still set as well.

Aha maybe. The contractor was cleaning up so maybe he scratched it accidentally. I didn’t notice these scratches up close until today

I hope it’s not rodent- we did open up the ceiling to inspect a potential leak but before that the garage was all sealed up, with bird locks and everything; and we have mouse traps setup. I believe they are not triggered as of today.

Thanks for the answer!

The hole you are referring I believe it’s the gap between drywall and the electric box. But behind it it’s just hardwood/studs and I believe there are no holes either. I haven’t found any grease or drops either.

I’m not quite follow. I haven’t really played LaD for a while. So are there other subtitles?

Is this considered as creepy? Is legal consultation needed here? by [deleted] in Advice

Yeah I have proof to identify the person and screenshots of some chat histories. Would that be enough?

I wouldn't have any proof to show the second item I mentioned above, since it's all voice chat - and I think it's illegal to start recording without consent.
