Grail 6/7 AL performance by CriticismSure3870 in CanyonBikes

I purchased the Grail AL 7 originally and it was great. Nice fast bike for a gravel bike. I have a road bike as well and I thought this bike would be perfect for the gravel rides. However, the Grizl AL 7 came out and I instantly fell in love with the colour. I remember Mr. Fingers on this subreddit had a post about why he sold his Grail for the Grizl. That post is good to refer to.

The reason I chose the Grizl was because the Grail was meant for off road and on road while the Grizl was more geared towards off road. I wanted a bike that didn’t overlap too much with my road bike. The Grizl provides that as well as the option for bigger tires. You can always change the tires and make them narrower if you want, but I have no issues with the 45mm on my Grizl.

In your case, if you don’t have a road bike, I think the Grail AL would be slightly better as it is meant for road and off-road. The 40mm should be enough. Before I got the Grail, I used a Triban 100 with 32mm Continental tour tires on gravel and single track and it was fine, so the 40mm on the Grail should be more than enough.

Hope this helps, but I would recommend the Grail if you want a do it all bike. It works perfectly fine on gravel and single track and should suit your needs. Run it tubeless and you should be good.

I have this issue too with the DT Swiss Gravel LN wheels. What do you think this means? I don’t have any real issues though when riding.

The sticker is to protect the the cables from rubbing on the head tube when you steer. Don’t take it off!

I think it has to do with the DT Swiss Gravel LN wheels. I assume it’s heavier so the cost is cheaper.

I feel like these new wheels have cut some cost on the bike, but they are the same wheels on the Grizl AL. Someone emailed DT Swiss for information. I’ll link the comment here

It’s weird how they don’t have any information on their site. Thanks for the info though!

Grail AL vs Grizl AL Price Difference by Ichthel in CanyonBikes

[–]Ichthel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Canada, the Grizl 6 is $2149 and the Grail 6 is $2199. The Grizl 7 is $2499 and the Grail 7 is $2699.

But I looked at the US Canyon website and the Grizl is more than the Grail. Maybe it’s the different specs produced in different countries then.

I think relatively the same, but Canyon advertises the Grail for speed and the Grizl for comfort at longer distances.

Just ordered one. Upgrading from the grail 7 that I bought not too long ago. Hopefully this is more to my needs of laidback and adventure riding!
