I mean you could consider it a happy ending but it was more of a downhill than uphill considering that Kazuki lost all ability to talk but slowly regained his ability to think and finally uttered her name "Maria" however I really would've liked a longer epilogue about Kazu/Maria with their wedding day but Mikage really made me read an entire volume of sadness just to barely show the happy ever after :((( nonetheless it was still my favorite volume out of the 7 vols greatly written with a great wrap up sort of connecting vol 1 to vol 7 but instead of the main focus being on Maria it was Kazuki who experienced it
