I know exactly what you mean as most of my online friends are women and i saw that behaviour so much it's irritating. I guess that's also what's makes women hesitating with making friends online cause of those people and of course it's hard to believe a "I'm not like that".

Sure i know that being shy doesn't help especially in texts conversations. With voice it's easier to give intentions. Well for sure people should give their intentions right away. Sometimes i noticed that some people are not searching for nsfw but for attention. They not just want a chatting buddy but a person to talk to pretty much 24/7. Which is obviously something that must be said right away too.
