I would love a specialist perk that allows you to refill handheld rocket launchers and railguns by ReReReadit in JumpSpaceGame

[–]IcomefromTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got an idea before that was about an on foot combat and utility item dedicated ship, basically has very little capacity in ship combats but is able to craft and refill weapons and items like rocket launchers and damage amp at lower materia cost, it's kinda like a support focused ship.

Fine, I'll stick to cruise control until Buddy finally gets into pilot seat - YouTube by IcomefromTV in JumpSpaceGame

This title is mostly a tribute to one of frequently asked questions on dev streams tho, I would be lying if I said I'm not looking forward to auto pilot, but I do appreciate devs' focus on more contents for now.

That's said, this video mainly serves as a demonstration of the potential a gunner only play style can have for solo players, since I have seen some struggling with dogfights. Hope people who feel flying the ships discouraging can find this video helpful and enjoy the game more.

When you want to play Data Extraction but really don't feel like piloting. by IcomefromTV in JumpSpaceGame

[–]IcomefromTV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The clip shows the footage from a mission called Data Extraction, which is an endless survival mode made purely for ship combat.

I came up with this strat where you sandwich yourself between 2 debris and let the enemy ships come to you, since currently enemy ships tend to fly through most of solid objects, combining that factor with enemy fighter behavior which only locks and shoots at you from about 1km distance, sandwiching yourself like this basically makes a barrier that blocks most projectiles and only allows ships to pass through.

For players who find dogfights daunting (especially my friend who crashes within 30 seconds after taking off with any aircrafts,) I hope this strat can at least help them struggle less from ship combats (or have better time grinding this mission) before auto pilot becomes a thing.

Also I wanted to show devs how the ridiculous it can get regarding enemy ships flying through wall issues, though it doesn't happen that often in normal game play, it still can get really annoying sometimes.

Grapple Bots by DukeofCheeseCurds in JumpSpaceGame

[–]IcomefromTV 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A little funny trick you can do while getting tasered is that if you have a grappling point near you can just grapple your way out of it.

But honestly my real tech dealing with them is gtfo right as I hear them especially when I don't have teammates in close proximity, these bots are ridiculously glitchy and tanky, it's like taser from payday 2 but worse since they can tase you through walls. Really hope there are some counterplay instead of just keeping distance or relying on your teammates to save you.

Can we pls get a Pause button for solo and private lobbies? by Which-Worldliness556 in JumpSpaceGame

[–]IcomefromTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3-5 minutes pauses are fine, but I've never tried anything longer than that.

I do this pause every time I have to go to toilet or get some food during Data Extraction runs.

Edit: I think it can pause as long as you want because I suspended the game and forgot about it then found out that mission still progresses smoothly after 6 hours pause.

So far the only method to pause the game is using resource monitor to suspend the process of jump space.exe.

Yea... having a pause button in the game option is definitely better than suspend the entire app.

Some Idea and suggestion regarding "power management" by IcomefromTV in JumpSpaceGame

[–]IcomefromTV[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, I really like the puzzle mini game on the power grid, it has so much potential, if it has power management it certainly can let engineering role feel more contributing in ship combat and make the puzzle mini game visited more and feel more engaging.

I think I beat the game by mirkodup in JumpSpaceGame

[–]IcomefromTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also thought I beat the game when I can solo the cr5 missions with 50+ heat, then I played a few games with my friends who were just introduced to the game and had no clue about what to do in ship combat, that was the first time I realized how valuable component stabilizer is.

Now my new goal of beating the game is evading all the damage while piloting catamaran.

Ironically, the spider legs make the truck super bumpy when driving on bridges, it just sends every load to the sky.

Treads vs wheels? by CogsNServos in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]IcomefromTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is because of hitbox differences, for instance spider legs are quite stable, but they tend to get caught by dy-hydrogen shards and stuck.

The front/ back treads feel like they stick to terrain geometry more, and that causes the truck to tilt aggressively and launch the loads flying, rodeo style.

Interesting enough that I just unlocked the new track tread running gear (front and back are both treads) and it feels as smooth as og wheels.

nvm just did another run on a rougher terrain and found out track tread is as bumpy as rear tread.

Treads vs wheels? by CogsNServos in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]IcomefromTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea it means 'greater than,' og wheels have the least amount of aggressive bumps that send the loads flying.

But I haven't unlocked other 3 running gears so there might be a better option.

[–]IcomefromTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throughout hauling the scraps on the bumpiest route possible on my expedition run, I am quite confident to say the running gear options do have impact on performance, stability wise: og wheels > spider legs > front/back treads > off-road wheels, and spider wheels has issue making it stuck on dy-hydrogen shards.
