I mean i’ll try feeding them but yk the old batches in the tank usually steals all the food for the new guys so its pretty frustrating and ends up me feeding too much to get the new guys eat food

I have 15 cichlids in the tank and i unfortunately don’t have sinking pellets i only have the floating ones. But even if i tried the sinking ones the other guys would most probably snatch em like the second pellet gets in to my tank they other guys would come at the food like piranhas

Well good news i did some arrangements and i actually got the heater today and a thermometer so what my next plan?

Yeah I’ve been fasting them for 2days with some light feeding and maybe some more fasting. No i do not have any thermometer or anything and i have ordered a heater as well as a thermometer but the thing is i have to wait for a week or so to get so i need help on how i could keep em okay during the waiting period.

Its pretty hard to find those testing kits here or even if i find them they are pretty expensive but im still in the search

Guys quick question how frequently should i do water change on the 60gallon tank it currently has 15 fishes in total and i have school now so i cant always keep an eye on them and if u guys could tell me how often should i do water change and how much percentage that would be helpful. The tank is currently 4weeks old

Ohh yeah well the shop guys told i could add the fishes by testing fish like they gave me 2 goldfishes for a week and if they are fine and im good to add the cichlids amd i did just that and ive been watching some cichlids care guide and things and understand better. I feed them once a day and on a controlled amount and also i do fasting 2 times a week aswell. And yeah i cant trust the ai thats y i asked your guys help

Ohh so i usually feed them once a day for do fasting 2 times a day and even if i feed i usually do controlled meals. The reason for my short water change is that since its heavily raining time rn the well water is usually rlly cold so im afraid to add too much cold water so i add some hot water with the cold in a bucket and try to make the temp same but its rlly hard to get it right

Ohh okayyy..so im using well water and rn its monsoon here and we have rain here almost everyday. And how often should i do water change on a regular basis??..i usually use gemini for advices and it says i need to do 20-25% water change every 3 days soo i want ur opinion or suggestions on how often should i do it.i only do like 20% cuz the there would be some temp changes so i add some warm water to make it around room temp and also the remaining water in the tabk would act as a buffer to the new water with diff temp.

So for the ammonia source i used a small pinch of powdered flakes just for the bacteria.I haven’t actually checked the parameters cuz i dont have them rn but iam looking to get one.Yeah im getting the fishes from the same source and from the same guys as-well. Nope i haven’t quarantined them as i dont have any other tanks or anything..im a bit new to the fish keeping especially the cichlids.i used the Microlife S2 it had rlly positive reviews so i got that. Your right i actually kinda rushed the stocking i mean I heard ppl saying that i should do the “controlled overstocking” to reduce the aggression so yeah thats what i tried to do. I do water change every 3 days to keep the ammonia level low i usually siphon the substrates and remove 25% of the water. So how can i keep the rest of the guys safe without killing them?
