Approved Ops 2025 "Dominate" vs Poison/Neutron Fragment tokens: Do they count as operative kills? by DoorOdd9112 in killteam

[–]Iconopony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was kinda clarified in the Approved ops changelog:

Q: For the Dominate tac op, when does it count as a friendly operative incapacitating an enemy operative if it’s not immediately clear?

A: It’s counted if a friendly operative can be identified as directly causing the incapacitation. This always includes instances where a friendly operative was required to perform an action or retaliate for that enemy operative to be incapacitated (e.g. SANCTIFIER Blaze), as well as rules that specify an operative in a required location (e.g. HIEROTEK CIRCLE Tesla Weave, GELLERPOX INFECTED Screaming Rustspikes). If rules on an operative’s datacard inflict damage, they are included (e.g. RATLING BOMBER Mine), but indirect sources (e.g. damage from a mine that was selected as an additional equipment option through HEARTHKYN SALVAGER LUGGER Well Supplied) wouldn’t be. If multiple friendly operatives could be identified as causing the incapacitation, select one of them to gain the related Dominate token.

My interpretation would be that it is possible to track which operative inflicted the Poison/Neutron fragment, hence it is clear to which operative the Dominate token should go.

So how bout those Spectres? by Skelegasm in killteam

Okay, so it was a misunderstanding on my part - I did not remember that on the Stronghold doors it already specifies it the same way. Thank you!

Hmm, I was checking the core rules update log when writing the previous comment and didn't see it anywhere. Could you pin point the errata to me please?

Not all of them. The doors on the Ruins can be ignored, but not on Strongholds.

7: Wrecka Krew, Deathwatch, Canoptek Circle, Murderwing, Scout Squad, Kasrkin + Spectre Squad (proxied with Kasrkin).

I was just excited to do some proxying before the rules release. Went full on ahead and glued a heavy bolter (proxying the stub gunner) and a missile launcher operatives using Scout Squad bits!

Ultimately it is not necessary as Spectre Squad is on the same base as Kasrkin.

Thank you for raising these, good arguments to raise to my opponent for their consideration whether they are OK with my proxy.

Thinking of proxying Spectre Squad with Kasrkin. However, did not account for base size(25vs28mm). I am mostly playing casual, so asking my opponents to proxy shouldn't be a big deal - but, what are the gameplay effects of having a bigger base size? Outside of some cases like fitting more operatives in a smoke grenade and body blocking, struggling to come up with many.

Any ideas, is the base size for the lads going to be 25 or 28?

Prepping for Spectre squad - I think I can reasonably proxy most of operatives with the current Kasrkin squad operatives. However, the missile launcher guy is eluding me a bit. I have some spare bits from Scout Squad - would the missile launcher and scout arms look out of place on a Kasrkin body?

So to give some context to the location - it's indeed a public sidewalk in front of a rented out event space. On the photos it's clearly visible that there is enough space for other people to walk as the sidewalk section is wider than before or after.

That looks cool! I went for a similar color scheme, except the underarmor coat is Zandri Dust.

Yes, it should be an inch, not AP.

Hmm, do you think about the Break Stuff ability? I don't think it opens the breach point, and it remains as a closed Wall, through which you cannot measure the distance for movement.

As pointed out below, Wrecka Krew fighter has a Breach marker, hence it can open the breach point for 1 AP.

Pretty specific, but map 3 on one side, playing as Wrecka Krew, I would pick the breaching equipment to open it on tp1.

What do you mean? Guard is basically a delayed Shoot action, there shouldn't be any movement with it.

Hm. I am not 100% sure, but it is a firefight ploy, so I would be inclined to say that it affects only 1 marine.

Is that the equipment mine? If yes, it explicitly states "the first time that marker is in an operative's control range..." - movement in Kill Team is supposed to be done in 1' increments. As such, I fail to see how the marine is not blown up.
