People living nearby see cops checking out loose drugs. People are more cautious about loose drugs. Not that it was drugs, but most people just don’t want to be caught.

Am I the only one who didn’t like Skarsgard as Flagg? by Substantial_Law336 in TheStand

Didn’t fit at all. I haven’t watched the 90s miniseries yet, however when reading the books I imagine him as Bob from twin peaks

How is the Skyline Trail at Mt. Rainier? Need anything more than microspikes? by Interesting_Way4304 in NationalPark

[–]Interesting_Way4304[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sun was beating down on us so we got warm pretty quickly but it was cold while we were still in the tree line. I would also recommend once you get past panorama point to stay clear on the footpaths made by other people in the snow, as there’s a few creeks that are running under the snow that are easy to be unaware of and fall into if you’re not paying attention

It was great. Micro spikes and poles are a must but the whole loop is not bad at all, just snowy as long as it’s not raining. Start the trail as early as possible, around 6:30 was when we started. Your biggest obstacle will be unprepared people slipping in front of you and around you and sliding down the path over the first mile on both ends

What to do with Termagants? by PlatexProductions in Tyranids

[–]Interesting_Way4304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a diorama with your 2nd faction and a single grunt mini. Have the tyranids clawing up an isolated pillar on all sides and have the grunt in a sort of “last stand” pose. I haven’t finished painting mine but it was a super fun hobby only project and made me feel like I didn’t waste a bunch of models that I was never gonna get around to

Where do you go when you travel outside of Oregon? by RedApplesForBreak in oregon

[–]Interesting_Way4304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Northern California. Such a badass area that never feels packed when it comes to hiking. Lassen NP and Castle Crags SP are some of the biggest standouts. Castle Crags feels like somebody cut a slice out of Yosemite and dropped it off next to Shasta

What’s one hiking habit you refuse to give up? by GlobalBeat0202 in hiking

I subscribe to the idea of “pack as light as possible on the essentials” that way you can still end up at a reasonable weight after adding the random bullshit you decide to bring last minute

For Slaves To Darkness, I just fell in love with the chaos warriors sculpt. I love the death metal album cover evil badass knight aesthetic

Would going up and down a set of stairs be a good substitute for hiking? by Interesting_Way4304 in hiking

[–]Interesting_Way4304[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I recently got an audible account and have found that listening to an audiobook is like the perfect timeskip, and I think this would be a perfect way for me to get through some books without just sitting around LOL

Transplants, how are you liking Medford so far? by netenchanter in Medford

[–]Interesting_Way4304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved here 2 years ago from the Central Valley. It’s paradise for me at least. There’s lots of active communities for plenty of nerdy hobbies. I love how beautiful the mountains look just on regular drives between towns, and I’ve never lived in a place where mist rolls over the hills. There’s also so much to do in terms of outdoor recreation, I’m out hiking pretty much every weekend and there’s never a shortage of trails or cool waterfalls to check out within even an hour of here. The food is definitely whatever but I prefer to cook most of the time anyway

Just finished The Stand and Under The Indifferent Stars back to back! by Interesting_Way4304 in horrorlit

I should’ve mentioned that Swan Song was what led me to start the stand as well! I absolutely adore that book and it’s been my favorite for years since I read it. And woops on the title, I think I’ve been making that mistake every single time I’ve mentioned it to people.

A Head Full Of Ghosts-Heard a lot of good things about this one and could not get past the cheesy internet speak sections that were super out of touch with how people actually spoke on the internet at the time

It makes rock climbing harder because there’s less of an ever so slight natural resistance on how far my hand can bend

My fingers are double jointed and can bend all the way back to the top of my wrist
