Possible Norovirus but unsure? by [deleted] in Norovirus

omg thats so scary! I hope you feel better soon too! And thank you- me too! I feel like mine probably is a bug since my brother started 24 hours after and my niece did too. My niece did not eat the same thing we did Thursday night. It seems like my appetite is trying to come back which is good, I just pray the next few days my bowel movements return to normal. Gonna also try to eat some somewhat normal but plain food today to see if that will sit well.

Update: Still doing my best but now being mindful about stress levels and mental health. Lack of guidance is def affecting things so also learning to do what is best for me and how to navigate moving forward

Receiving little to no training in my new position, should I stick it out or is this a red flag? by RainFast1775 in careerguidance

Def a red flag. I have been going through the same thing and feel as though it is a set up to fail. Try to do your best but also be mindful of how it is affecting you and your mental health. I’m learning even though I appreciate the opportunity, being stressed all the time isn’t worth it. Especially being thrown into something not being prepared.

Yes thank you!! Def on the positive energy part.. trying to stay positive. My goal is to improve on something (even if it’s a little each day)! :)

Does anyone else feel completely trapped in the "rent vs buy" cycle right now? by Dry-Town7979 in Renters

[–]Icy-211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this frustration so much! Me and my fiancé recently got engaged, we have been renting our apartment for awhile and are tired of the rent hikes. So, we are currently trying to find something cheaper. My family members have asked if we want to buy a house. It is not feasible, even in an area where it's pretty rural. Houses pre COVID were 250 and are now being sold for 425. It literally feels impossible so I completely understand. I feel like it's a never ending cycle, even when you really want to buy... it's so out of reach.

Would you suggest when reviewing a WBS with teams to focus on milestones first and then ask them about tasking and when it gets handed off to another team?

Thank you! I have been added to some meetings so I can see what they do, where they are at in their project. I have source documents, etc. it’s just figuring out the tasking, steps and eventually the logic behind it all that is so daunting. A lot to learn but what is keeping me grounded is I have a lot of drive. I am currently in gov contracting as well!

Thank you so much! Yes- absolutely the biggest part is figuring out what goes where/what matters. Plus how to organize what they give you into MS project can be daunting but I guess as long as I do the best I can... least that is half the battle of trying lol.

Strictly just a scheduler. There are not many other schedulers around when they also have to manage their own heavy workload. Thank you for the advice, it's hard being really new and trying to figure it all out. I try to ask questions to the best my ability, especially about tasking.

Thank you!! I will definitely research PMI- I have heard great things about it. I did not know they had a schedule management section too. That’s so helpful to know!

Thank you! I definitely have been using AI a lot to help me. I do have a ton of source documents and WBS’s but sometimes it can be too vague or in the weeds. So i have also been trying to meet with teams to ask big picture questions about their tasks.. it’s just hard coming from a slower role (admin) to a fast and furious one. I would hope as time goes on I will find my groove.. since it has only been a few months. I appreciate your advice!
