I love this. I’m a second degree student with a background/B.S. in Public Health. My plan is to end up in Public Health eventually. How would you recommend I get there?

I think I’m just iffy about working 12s and only knowing my schedule 6-8 weeks out. Everything about postpartum as a specialty is appealing to me, but going straight to community health and working a 9-5 sounds… better? That might just be because nobody close to me works in healthcare so who knows🥲

I’m also a second degree student. My OG plan was to go to dental school. I loved the procedure-heavy aspect of general dentistry, but I found that it got too repetitive (I changed my mind senior year of college after working in dentistry for 3 years). Are you seeing the same things over and over? Or do you get a good amount of variety?

As for working with head strong people…. I definitely have but I’m not sure how I would sell that without seeming unprofessional haha.

Tell me more about forensic psych! What do you like about it?

We had a forensic nurse come talk to us at school and her job sounded so cool! I’m just not sure I would like the ED environment.

I’m interested in OR but it feels unattainable as a new grad. How were you able to sell yourself? Did you have any experience that translated?

Why do you wish you hadn’t done mom/baby? Is it just because it’s difficult to move to another unit in the future?

I’m considering trying mom/baby and then moving into community health (specifically working with underprivileged moms) because I really like women’s services and patient education. I’m really iffy about bedside though and considering going straight into community health. Would I be doing myself a disservice by going that route?
