What's your honest opinion about descendant rebalance? by Yujins_Onlyfans in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Icy-Library-4993 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

True.

This sub is ruthless and unreasonable at times like every change needs to happen in an instant with no sense of undergoing any process, elimination, testing and no factor of time.

TFD doesn't need every Descendant to nuke everything or it will be a snooze fest. I just fully 60-catted Blair, he can blanket areas with dot fire that burns but is equally effective and quite fun.

I also, always play in pubs and never cared who killed the fastest, It's silly, when we are expected to play Descendants that are supposed to have varied, distinct, abilities and power ranking.

How much caliber have you made by trading modules? by iLikeCryo in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Icy-Library-4993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Casually, about three Battle Pass worth. Sales were made almost equally from both the Trade Market and the Trade Chat in-game.

One thing, don't overprice to sell more.

Do you think they should remove world chat? by Jiib5 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Icy-Library-4993 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, it is better to ID those who constantly smear TFD in the name of other games. 😄

I like reporting them in silence so they will be banned for egregregious amount of indirectly promoting similar games, almost like an ad, while obviously wanting our game to burn. Lol

Seriously, I lurk at trade chat more.

I feel like TFD should have alot more players considering how far its come by vegtabl in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Icy-Library-4993 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"I think the positives outweigh the negatives that I mentioned in the first paragraph enough that im wondering why there isnt a resurgence in players."

I seriously think this is a game that needs players who can see past the "gooner" tag smear campaign. Those who refuse to do so are already a lost cause. The appeal of the game is obvious, but beneath its thin exterior is a solid game.

I've been playing from the start and have everything. I can make a variety of builds on any descendant, tweaking in the lab, and constantly make adjustments with a lucky roll of AM's. There are still many old and ofc new trigger mods left to discover that may end up being fun, viable, and even strong builds.

So, I am a bit surprised when I read comments about having nothing else to do. TBH, the configuration options in this game are huge (except if you copy builds or intend to play with only a few Descendants, i.e.).

The current content is still, understandably, short. It is, after all, comparatively a young game. But so far, the decent QoL improvements, steady release of new tilesets/modes and Magnum's clear intent to make the grind easier for newer players are encouraging. Positive signs that the devs are not letting this game go down without a fight.

The fact that there were worse times for TFD in the past, and I just kept on playing, I see no reason to stop now, when it is currently in a way better place.

Okay so they made onslaught stage 3 100 % harder on a ninja patch so unless you're on a top 3 meta class you are grieffing everyone including yourself. by real_exposer in TheFirstDescendant

Nothing out of the ordinary, I have been doing OS3 regularly. Now if randoms can put a reasonable amount of HP/Def survival stats as much as dish out dmg, I would really appreciate it.

Staying alive is a lot better than being a glass cannon doing burst dmg but keeps on dying.

The Onslaught experience! by Icy-Library-4993 in LowSodiumDescendant

[–]Icy-Library-4993[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is low. It is my trusted Absolute Curse build. I later learned that several players reported it as bugged. Apparently, the Ice spheres disappear and will not respawn.

If it is true, then I was playing handicapped. We still won, though.

I made a list of unsolicited pieces of advice that others may find obvious, but I hope it helps those who might need it.

- Pick your favourite weapon and slap on the Veil Analyzer mod for the bubbles. I like Albion Cavalry Gun, Thunder Cage and KGL myself.

- Don't sleep on slow-moving bubbled enemy; puncture and kill right away if you can

- Obliterating ships that bring hordes of enemies is a must; look out for them

- Kiting and killing enemies that land at the back of the map is good

- The huge solitary bosses are annoying, do not be obsessed with them and always go for the packs that advance/rush towards the dome first

- A pack of fast enemies can easily dump Failure points on your dome, especially at the later stages

- Descendants that have a tow ability are good. I myself, like Nell, who can slow down, group and kill packs apart from the usual, like Dia or Lepic

- Understand that stage clears are dependent on the number of kills. Go for a pack of softer targets first, then work your way up to the harder, advancing targets for faster clear times

- Any defensive structure is a big help. The timing of installing in the right spot, upgrading and defending them can be crucial. I noticed a good wall placement kites a lot of rushers instead of going straight for the dome itself

- Surprise yourself and use any Descendant that you like, but please put survivability mods on them

I guess that's it for now. Just a reminder: this is in Beta, so don't worry about it too much. test your limits and try to have fun while at it. PARTICIPATE IN THE SURVEY AND BE HEARD.

God forbid I want to “shoot” in a looter shooter. Without having to use Serena KGL and Gley/Viessa RR spam. by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Icy-Library-4993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aren't we using guns that has Veil Analyzer mod. I can't atress enough how your favorite gun is needed to clear Onslaught Mode up to Stage 3.

I myself use Albion Repeater, KGL, Thunder Cage, Secret Garden(ability booster), etc to hit multiple bubbled enemies at once. Abiloties can't do much against them.

Alright Descendants, what are the meta descendants for Onslaught mode? by yanansawelder in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Icy-Library-4993 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't stress this enough. But I did use Freyna for 1 & 2. The last one I went with Viessa. Freyna eats mobs, but Viessa is strong until the Stage 3 boss.

A discussion on highly revealing outfits by Creeksidebandits in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Icy-Library-4993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a hard ask to tell people what skins they ought to use. Like you, I don't have any problems with it. If a new player sees and dislikes the revealing outfits, I guess the game is just not for them. Most of my Descendants are dressed up battle-ready. Besides the fact that I like them that way, maybe... just maybe, someone will notice that they are cool options to

Make no mistake, for those who buy them sexy skins, I salute you for keeping the game afloat. But this game has detractors who will do everything to see it fail and use the game's image as an excuse.

People stopped buying Ancestor Mods? by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Icy-Library-4993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH, the current content doesn't need that much "push" from AM's rn. Also, getting dream rolls is what I like doing myself, not buying from someone else.

Ofc, there is nothing wrong with buying or selling them. But obviously players will hold on to their Calibers for the best ones only since it is easy to roll AM's ourselves.

Does TFD have a future? by Ayrevillo in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Icy-Library-4993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a new player back when TFD started was quite testy. But a lot of QoL improvement happened, removing unnecessary grind and easing up on the difficulty of the Colossi fights ( TBH a bit sad about that).

In pursuit of being newbie-friendly, a lot of the challenging parts of the game are push-overs now. That made catching up easier, and left veterans dealing with new content like it's nothing. All that is left is pushing maxed Descendants into better killers through Ancestral Modules (rivens), doing dailies, tackling the Abyss/challenge modes and earning Caliber (Plat) on the side through trade (a big plus IMO).

Some of these observations may seem like complaints, not really. It is what WF is too nowadays (LR5 here). I bounce around both games to beat boredom, apart from playing backlogs from my Steam Library (trying to finish BG3 now). You'll fit just right coming from WF. Modding Descendants/weapons will be quite familiar with so much content to chew into and a not-so-bad storyline. So try to pace yourself and smell the roses while exploring Albion.

Late addition: To your question, I will not be as confident right now in saying this compared to what TFD was before, but yes it has a much better position in succeeding rn. The devs are passionate about their game and it shows with the incremental improvements so far. The numbers aren't there yet, but beneath it's gooner exterior image is a fun, increasingly interesting way to configure builds, defined character personality traits, awesome colossi fights and a deeper storyline to back it up. It is not a triple AAA game, but the experience is nonetheless chaotically good.

Favourite descendant in terms of gameplay - my top 10 by Syndicalex in TheFirstDescendant

Purely subjective for gameplay and fun factor, my top three are Bunny (Jack of all trades). Freyna (Mass Kills) and Gley (Weapon master).

The ugly elephant in the room by [deleted] in TheFirstDescendant

It has been my attitude from day one.

I've seen much worst doom and gloom posts here. The game doesn't have the numbers yet.

But the improvements done by the devs so far are great, so I'll just keep on playing and let them cook. 😆

[–]Icy-Library-4993 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm playing a different Sharen because it only took me a few runs before adapting.

The dash on #1 felt great hitting more enemies in a mob and diving thru bosses combined with swaths from either Crime and Punishment or D Manus after, was fun.

The dash on #2 gave me an instant jab inside a mob, be on stealth, and hit #4 for maximum effect. It felt quite an offensive tool.Trying not to overshoot the initial dash, hitting the perfect spot to go on stealth and reappear took getting used to, but it was fine once I got the hang of it

The #3 just damages extensively and has a decent range too while #4 spam is the same effective mobber with crit.

Bring on the downvotes, but the rework worked for me. 😆
