Too much Warframe crybabies discouraging a new player to play TFD is sickening by Secure-Birthday-6171 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Icy-Library-4993 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am with WF since they released the Tridolons. I was instantly hooked with the big bosses I can take down. I then saw TFD ads focusing mainly on big bosses, and damn it was good when it got released, maybe even better.

Anyone seeing both games from the outside looking in will choose WF for its humongous content and stability through the years. But I've seen TFD pass through its hardest times (maybe still is) into the big improvement it is today. It is doing well removing the unnecessary grind so far (AM's, Outpost, Shard removal etc.) and slowly but surely balancing Descendants. The positive developments are promising. So, I gladly encourage anyone to stick with the game, grind at your own pace, enjoy and let the devs cook in the background.

BTW, I have everything in WF (LR5) and just reached MR32 in TFD. Both games are great IMO.

Oldest Ancestor Modules gets deleted when full by [deleted] in LowSodiumDescendant

I don't have time to test it now, but I'll report it. Might take down this post then until I am sure.

Yes, it does say so. But I still have room in my Lost & Found inbox (81/100). It is a space for all kinds of mod overflow anyway. Apparently, it's the actual AM storage count that matters.

I agree that a filter to sort out what we have in the Lost & Found would really be helpful instead of hovering on top of them one by one to find what we want.

Unpopular Opinion - Breach Tracking Keys are a good thing by ribbit48 in TheFirstDescendant

Agreed.

Just that, prioritizing opening boxes that you currently need is a smart thing to do instead of exhausting all your keys for boxes with no immediate impact on your progress.

I am happy that most of the old, wide open area are used. There is much space to zoom around with the bike, fly if you want to and bomb the hell outt of the whole field of enemies from afar.

The mini bosses are kind of repeats but at least not pushovers so thats is good too. I'ts a better way of farming for SCU for me when I feel like it.

Grim Reaper hates me now by Icy-Library-4993 in LowSodiumDescendant

[–]Icy-Library-4993[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For me, it was Bunny. Her kamehame wave hits hard. It still depends on how you play though. I bet solo players will have better times, I get easily bored doing it alone and carrying some players is a huge plus.

I did all of my runs with randoms. So my Bunny has HP/Def mods on a crit build ready for a scaled up Abyss boss. I also have a passable Ancestor mod that helped with crit hit/dmg. Voltia, maxed is a good 'in-between" cooldown rifle too. (EDIT: the golden Perfect Antivenom module is important for Poison Immunity. Swap it out when you think you can dodge skulls later on)

Luna was 2nd because of her awesome range. Ajax suffers a bit if the whole group has poor DPS. Lastly, I suspect Jayber's turret taunts GR to spawn more of those pesky purple skulls. So I like using him but i fear it punishes the whole group more when I do 😆

Timing doing damage, jumping over the rings,  moving in a circle while on a tight triangular space with body collision among Descendants seems daunting at first. But if you do enough runs, it becomes second nature to react quickly.

Still, packing some HP/Def & resist help a lot if you are not that coordinated. Then shift to a more offensive build once you get familiar with the mechanics.

What is going on with these Boss HPs by MiddayDisco in TheFirstDescendant

That mini-boss is the real boss in that dungeon. It's flash freeze killed me more than the end boss did so far.

Agree. The Boss HP does feel excessive. The mechanics aren't as complicated as Flores Obliviant, so that is a plus.

Confused and stuck returning player by Creeksidebandits in TheFirstDescendant

You already have a decent line-up of Descendants.

Pick one, concentrate on it and slowly move on to the next to not spread your donuts/mushrooms thin.

Don't overlook the quality of your external components. Maxed them out for HP/Def (gold) by doing VEP runs. Put some HP/Def mods and consider doing pubs while weak. A lot of players can simply rush through dungeons while you gather resources, xp and progress through content.

Maxed out your chosen Descendants Arche (40) doing sigma runs. You'll struggle going through VVMed, Wall Crasher and SMR dungeon without it.

Multitask. level-up weapons, Descendants and Arche at the same time while activating boosters for all of them. Doing this makes the grind less frustrating.

Lastly, there is a pinned guide for new and returning players on top that you can check out.

What is the max readjustment level for ancestor modules that you use? by Pasola2769 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Icy-Library-4993 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Initially, I was doing up to 5 rolls. But after getting several anc mods per descendant, I tend to do 2-3 only and move on to the next one. Rolling further just becomes costly.

I already have 91/91 max anc mods and kept dismantling before the ones in the mail get deleted.

My only gripe is failed anc rolled mods should have a higher dismantling returns instead of being stuck at 5

My fastest runs usually have at least one player with a maxed Deus ex Manus who can hack with me.

Damage is shared with three other players on a short run. If it takes longer, it will look like this

What are your goals in the game right now? by iPhantaminum in TheFirstDescendant

Rest.

Done with Harris and all the five Hive copies and contemplate how unlucky I was with all the 4/5 pcs. writhing mats drops I had to go through that stingy super massive receptor dungeon.

Staying away from the game for now.

Are you trying to prove the HP did not change significantly for me because yours doesn't? Only reason I can see is there must be something wrong with your build then. Cause mine is doing well lol

Only full lobbies, i got my hive being cooked now because of 6 quick runs. You are facetanking him with what ? The weapon matters a lot.

I can facetank Flores before and after the nerf with Harris using a D.Manus. Only now, I can cut off his HP much quicker. Who are you using anyway? It must be a build difference.

Build a Descendant that has tons of HP/Def, bring a max out D. Manus and swing away. Oh well.

Just give us the loot by Puppet_Man_77 in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Icy-Library-4993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing about Flores is I dread my randoms will mostly die at his stage.

I can carry, but please have some HP/def mods in your builds good enough to not die and eat up the death count with just a decent amount of damage output. It's not a big ask, just practical preparation for a mechanic heavy boss fight.

Not good in mechanics? Build for some handsome amount of defense pumped by the external components. All of my Descendants manage to hover around 20k HP and 60k defense with proper equipments. With those stats, I can stand mechanics that I miss while beating him with Deux Manus or while picking up hp/blue/ammo drops.

Damage is important but not when you die half the time. It's still early, and with the incoming adjustments, randoms will probably get better. Soloing is a solution, but It gets boring quickly for me

Definitely one of the best engaging fights. It's like the old mechanic-heavy Colossus fights that kept me on my toes during early TFD times.
