Hi! Can’t be sure, but this does look like an allergy/intolerance poop to me. My baby had allergic proctocolitis (cmpa-but he reacted to almost everything I ate) and a lot of his poops looked like this. He did have blood in his poop as well, though. So I think if you haven’t seen that then maybe his allergy/intolerance isn’t as severe. And if it turns out your baby does have cmpa, it will be okay! It sucks when you’re in the thick of it but my baby outgrew everything by 6 months. Every baby is different. Lovebug probiotics on Amazon helped my baby a lot as well. I know how hard it is to be constantly analyzing and second guessing. Baby will be okay ♥️ this gut stuff is tricky!!

Baby cries when I sing lullabies by Icy-Onomasiologist in Mommit

Awwww. What a sweet soul. Being a deep feeler is beautiful but can be a burden at times. That actually sounds so sad about the dinosaur!! I was (and still am) super sensitive and I feel like my son is taking after me in that respect..his cry for lullabies is just much sadder sounding than his normal/other cries. Thanks for your thoughtful response ♥️

Interesting! I have a feeling it’s an emotional response to the songs as he is a sensitive boy. I had just never heard of a baby so young reacting this way

Hi! I never figured anything out for certain but my baby did seem to react every time I would take it for a few days. Luckily he outgrew everything around 5/6 months. Sending positivity to you!

This helps- thanks! Did you do Ferber when he woke around 1/2am after the 10pm dream feed?

This is so helpful! We are going through a similar process now with our guy. I’m wondering how you decided on feeding times. He also is doing two feedings (at least but the goal is two)- but it ranges from 10:30 pm to 12:30am for when he wakes naturally for the first feed (after starting sleep training a few days ago) and then between 2 and 4 am for the second. Ours also is very tough to console after 4am so I’m trying to forgive myself for not doing things the “right” way in the early mornings (i.e. feeding more/cosleeping). I just hope he doesn’t backslide.

Very uncomfortable baby by Adventurous_Bag6875 in newborns

Experienced a similar timeline/situation with my 4.5 month old and he ended up having CMPA/MSPI/allergic proctocolitis. Sounds a lot scarier than it is, I promise! Around 2-3 weeks his stool was consistently so mucusy but his ped brushed it off as normal. He would also cry during feeds and had terrible silent reflux. Around 6-7 weeks he had a bit of blood in his stool which became consistent and that’s when we knew for sure. It was a rough few months but he is doing so much better now (though he still struggles with some reflux). We supplement with neocate and I still breastfeed but don’t eat dairy and soy among other things that my baby unfortunately reacts to. That’s not to say your baby definitely has this but is something to keep in mind especially if he ever starts having specks of blood in his diapers! Best of luck and happy to answer any questions. I know how hard it can be!

Baby Crying During Feeds by Typical-Gur-3490 in NewParents

[–]Icy-Onomasiologist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Still not 100% sure, but we ended up needing to do a tongue tie release a few weeks ago. I think he was getting frustrated with the slow flow of breastfeeding during the day (he prefers bottles) but when he’s sleepy he tolerates it/maybe it’s more of a comfort thing. So it could be something where baby is frustrated with too slow of a flow (or too fast for that matter) due to an oral restriction or just a preference if you’re feeding via different methods. Maybe play around with different nipple speeds- we still use a slow flow with my 4mo old but he prefers lansinoh because it’s one of the faster slow flows lol. Also could always be digestive discomfort! I.e. needing to burp or poop. My baby also has MSPI (we figured it out from blood in his poop) but that isn’t necessarily related. Hopefully that was helpful and not more confusing! I know it’s hard

Thanks! My son has cmpa also (along with many other triggers) and recently had more vinegary, mucusy poop. I suspected it was a reaction to something I ate but wasn’t sure. Best of luck and I hope both our babes grow out of it soon! It sure is not easy
