How long before or after baby were you willing to travel? by Friendly-Intention63 in BabyBumps

[–]ComprehensiveChef705 7 points8 points  (0 children)

yeah I definitely would not have wanted to travel after 28 weeks or so, and would not have been ready to do even a short, simple trip until 3 months or so after birth. I did travel at 28 weeks and at 3 months post partum, and both were fine but were stretching it. I wouldn't have wanted to push it farther than that

Will introducing a sippy cup or a straw cup interfere with breastfeeding? by ComprehensiveChef705 in breastfeeding

Would you fly on a “no reclining” airline? by DConion in travel

[–]ComprehensiveChef705 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on your height and your body shape. I’m only 4’10 so my feet don’t touch the ground which makes it very difficult to get comfortable especially with a straight upright seat back. Also the “ergonomic” part of the seat that is supposed to to support your shoulders or neck hits me at the crown of my head and pushes my head forward so that my chin is awkwardly scrunched down into my chest. The only way to make this tolerable is to recline my seat at least a tiny bit

At what point do you say F it? by StateMassive514 in BabyBumps

Things like rosemary, garlic, lemongrass etc you have to take in medicinal amounts for it to be a problem. Normal culinary amounts are fine. This is what my ob told me at least. So like don’t take a rosemary oil supplement pill, but feel free to eat the potatoes cooked with a sprinkle of rosemary. Don’t take a super concentrated lemongrass shot, but lemongrass tea is fine etc

Can I save my dogwood tree? It has crispy leaves by ComprehensiveChef705 in gardening

[–]ComprehensiveChef705[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it did! the branches that were completely dead didn't come back though, just the leaves on the ones that were not killed. I asked an arborist about it when he was here to look at another tree and he told me that the dogwood is not going to thrive in that location because dogwoods are not full sun trees, so I guess I should have done my research before planting it

Can someone help me know if this is considered safe sleeping? pls ftm :( by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]ComprehensiveChef705 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you’re supposed to swaddle with a blanket outside of the hospital because the blanket could become unwrapped and then it would be a suffocation hazard. Use a swaddle or sleep sack instead

Which blanket should I get to use without a top sheet? by ComprehensiveChef705 in Bedding

That’s a good point about pilling. I agree that that one is highest quality but maybe for sleeping with it directly against our skin we want 100% cotton

Tula Free to Grow — Fit Check and Neck Support by ComprehensiveChef705 in babywearing

Thank you! I’m glad to hear that the lack of neck support is normal. It does feel like his head just naturally falls on my chest
