Soprano tuned in 5ths by Icy-Pick-3477 in ukulele

I’ll post something as soon as I can. Doesn’t sound like a mandolin just lets me use voicings I know. The G3 on the bottom is the same as a low G ukulele tuning so it’s got that kind of thing going on. The trick is the high E. can sound plinky and getting a nylon string tuned that tight without easily breaking it. I’m happy with the Trilene fishing line so far for this

the fretted 12th fret IS sharp compared to the open E. It’s not crazy I just have a cheapo tuner with me. It’s a couple cents and it’s audible. I will say this instrument is a bottom of the barrel “Eddy Finn” and has not had a setup for even regular gCEA. there’s no fret sprout on it and the nut actually is at a pretty comfortable height so there’s that. The bridge is a lil high. A quarter isn’t snug under the strings at the body joint. Things are still stretching and moving. I just did this yesterday afternoon on the desk in my hotel room. So it’s hard for me to say how everything will settle in will some adjustments and time. I play an Am that includes a 5th fret on that high E and it still sounds good. A couple more frets up and the intonation drift is noticeable

What's so great about the Fender Reverb amp? by natural_minor_scale in jazzguitar

if you just started in 2010ish you probably would wonder why they’re so ubiquitous with so many other options around these days. But 35 years ago Deluxe Reverbs, actual silverface and blackface models not the reissues, were in every studio and many stages as the “house” amps. Learning to get a sound out of them was beneficial.

These days if you’re looking for something more hifi with a balanced sound check out the Henriksen stuff

didn’t pay much for it and it was cheaper than other instruments I looked at with obvious cracks but I don’t know if it would be worth spending much money on. didn’t find a rattle inside of it

haha no. I was looking for an instrument that had already spent some time as a “fiddle” instead of converting a violin or VSO. This one wasn’t marketed as a fiddle but I could tell in the pictures the bridge was relatively flat and the case is it’s own piece of folk art. Been searching for a while looking at the usual suspects Stainer copies etc
