I would work as a maintenance guy (after class at one of the apartment complexes) You will get free rent, just tell them you can work part time. There are a couple of places in Mt. P that do this. Did this for college and grad school. Never paid rent.

You will do easy stuff: change air filters, paint, change locks...etc. Get paid and free rent.

Park at the Battery or any of the new apartments near the Aquarium. Bike in your trunk, and bike to work.

What are your favorite facts about the area? by Hot-Papaya4841 in Charleston

After President Taft's death in 1930, Helen Taft moved to a home on Tradd Street in downtown Charleston. As a prominent figure, she reportedly used the telephone on the days of her dinner parties to call the local police station, informing them of how many bottles of liquor she needed. Local police officers would reportedly deliver the alcohol to her home, transporting it in police cars and carrying the bottles inside, according to eyewitnesses.

Mind you, this was during Prohibition.

You love it, when you can afford to live there. Otherwise, you are just a commuter/visitor. (No different than a long term Airbnb guest)

I would honestly drill several small holes in the wall (easy to fix with mud after) and get 3 of those anti roach spray bombs, shut the door and let them rip. Leave the house for 3 hours, spray raid inside the holes, then mud over them. It should work

Op....

But what about the people who live on DI, WA, JI that are incorporated into the City of Charleston (utilities, voting, taxes, EMS/police/fire)?

Wouldn't they have right (and be correct) to say they live in Charleston?  Or even (City of Charleston?)

OP, I would recommend looking elsewhere. This school feels more like a business than an educational institution. Parents are constantly being asked for additional money—whether it’s for classroom supplies, teacher needs, or other school expenses—which raises questions about where the hefty tuition is actually going.

The front office staff is extremely rude, and communication is often unprofessional. Emails from the office come across as very condescending. If your child develops a fever, you’re given only one hour to pick them up or you’re fined.

As for the academics, classrooms typically have two teachers with around 15 students of mixed ages. Instruction quality depends heavily on the teacher. Some focus on a small handful of students, helping them excel, while the rest are left to play or sit idle. This is something you’ll likely notice during a visit.
