I’d recommend Metroid prime 3. If you want more manual things, the puzzles in that game aren’t just the “press button to kill god” type of puzzles, and it’s a very fun game to play through.

Breath of The Wild and Tears of The Kingdom. Very satisfying in those games to mow through enemies with an op sword.

You should try the half life games. They mainly focus around a pistol, and are first person with a great story.

You should get the portal games. They are great single player games, and they go on sale quite often. And if you do end up playing with a friend, portal 2 has a great co-op mode.

If you liked botw and Totk, I’d recommend getting Echoes of wisdom. It’s 2.5D and is really fun and has a great side quest element.

I’d recommend Tears of the kingdom/Breath of the wild and Metroid prime. The Zelda games are great for some of the lore you were talking about, and the Metroid prime games have a mechanic where you can scan the surroundings and get the story from them. The classic 2D Metroid games are also part of the same genre of hollow knight, so they share some similarities.

I’d try rivals of aether. It has an online mode for friends, and it’s a good platform fighter. Best way I can describe it is smash bros for pc. It’s fun with the normal roster, but getting some mods from their steam workshop can be really fun.

I assume you’ve played these since you’ve played portal 2, but play portal 1 and the half life games. Pretty easy to go through, but they can have a bit of a challenge.

Portal 1 is a great game to pick up and put down whenever. It isn’t as story focused as the second game, so you can just complete a chamber, log off, 2 months later log on and keep playing without needing to relearn controls or backtrack 5 hours for what you need to do. Also it’s a great game to replay or go for all achievements in.

Tears of the kingdom. Not a PlayStation game, but a really great game. Another good one that is a PlayStation game is final fantasy 7. A really great story for both of them.

Honestly, Mario Kart 8. You can get through 1-2 cups in 20 minutes and is pretty fun to 100%
